    摘要: A side-opening sleeve valve having an inner barrel with a shaped opening through its cylindrical wall having a longer size along the axis of the inner barrel, and a co-annular outer barrel having shaped opening through its cylindrical wall having a longer size along the axis of the outer barrel. The inner barrel is rotatable relative to the outer barrel between a first open position where the shaped openings overlap to form a side opening into the sleeve valve, and a second closed position where the shaped openings do not overlap. The side opening has an effective axial opening size and an effective lateral opening size in a ratio of at least about 2:1. The side-opening valve is useful with water-less toilet that can empty into the side-opening valve when opened, and when closed, a pigging fluid flush system pushes the waste in the side-opening valve to a sewage system.

    摘要: A device for transporting and delivering chemical to interior walls of pipelines employs a pig having a tank which contains pressurized chemical therein. Operably connected to the tank is a nozzle which is equipped to deliver the chemical from the tank onto the inner pipeline walls as the pig is transported through the pipeline. The pig is equipped with a device to deliver the chemical at a predetermined point within the pipeline and includes a position tracking device to enable location thereof. A method of cleaning and treating a pipeline is also provided.

    摘要: A cleaning apparatus useful for cleaning the interior of a pipeline contains: (A) a platform of a dimension sufficient to be inserted through an opening in the pipeline, the platform containing one or more portions; (B) a fluid interruptor having one or more parts to provide a surface to contact fluid flow and thereby interrupt fluid flow, the fluid interruptor constructed and arranged to be attached to the platform; a downstream side of the fluid interrupter being supported by members connected to the platform to dispose the fluid interruptor against fluid flow; (C) runners attached to the underside of the platform to contact an inner diameter of the pipeline; whereby the supported fluid interruptor, platform and runners redirect fluid flow between an underside of the platform and an inner surface of the pipeline; and (D) a device located downstream of the fluid interruptor to constrict the volume of the redirected fluid and increase its flow rate; whereby fluid flow is increased to move solid waste in the pipeline; and method for utilization of the cleaning apparatus to assist in relocation of solids in a pipeline for extraction therefrom, such as sewer lines or storm drains. The apparatus may further have opposing support members on an upper face of the platform; a rudder to orient disposition of the apparatus; one or more ballasts to correct any listing of the apparatus during use; and/or one or more seals or skirts that help the sled better form to the pipe.

    摘要: Apparatus for the monitoring of the fluid environment in a pipeline (14) is described comprising a pigging vehicle (1), within which are contained sensing means (5, 6 and 7) and a data logging device (3). The dimensions of the pigging vehicle (1) are such that its movement is not forced in a conventional manner along the pipeline (14), but instead the pigging vehicle (1) simply travels along under the influence of the production fluid (100). The pigging vehicle (1) further comprises a weight changing mechanism (9) that moves between a first and second condition. After a predetermined time, or after travelling a predetermined distance, the weight changing mechanism (9) may be activated so as to adjust the floatability of the device. By employing this monitoring apparatus advanced warnings of areas of a pipeline that are vulnerable to corrosion can be detected along with areas which have already degraded due to corrosion.

    摘要: A cleaning system for cleaning a pneumatic conveyance system used to transport particulate material. The pneumatic conveyance system includes a material-introduction device for introducing particulate material into a convey line, and a motive air source for generating an air flow to propel the particulate material through the convey line. The cleaning system comprises a projectile comprising a cleaning surface for cleaning an interior of the convey line as the projectile travels through the convey line, a launcher for injecting the projectile into the convey line, with the launcher being coupled with the convey line at a position upstream from the material-introduction device, and a catcher vessel for receiving the projectile upon said projectile exiting the convey line.
