    摘要: A laying pipe for use in the laying head of a rolling mill is configured for rotation about an axis, with an entry end aligned on that axis to receive a hot rolled product, and with a curved section leading to a delivery end spaced radially from that axis. The curved section defines a guide path configured to form the hot rolled product into a helical formation of rings. The laying pipe comprises a tubular ferrous wall having an interior surface comprising a wear resistant boronized layer against which the hot rolled product is confined for movement along the guide path. A method of enhancing the wear resistance of the laying pipe comprises forming a wear resistant boronized layer on at least one of the interior and exterior surfaces of said pipe.

The product is deposited on a rotating drum in the form of a helix, and is simultaneously unwound from the drum to a receiving guide movable incrementally along a path parallel to the rotational axis of the drum. Immediately upon entry of the product front end into the receiving guide, the incremental movement of the receiving guide is preceded by an initial rapid shifting through a distance adequate to prevent subsequent product convolutions of the helix from buckling and overlapping.

    摘要: In a laying head for forming a longitudinally moving hot rolled product into a helix, a tubular quill has a central axis of rotation and a through passageway extending along the central axis from a first end to an opposite second end of the quill. The interior quill surface has a cylindrical section leading from the first end of the passageway to a radially outwardly flared section which in turn leads to the second end of the passageway. A laying pipe is received in the through passageway. The laying pipe has an entry end aligned with the central axis at the first end of the passageway, a curved intermediate portion surrounded by the flared section of the interior quill surface, and an end portion projecting axially from the second end of the passageway to a delivery end spaced radially from the central axis. A first support at the first end of the passageway radially supports the entry end of the laying pipe, and a second support projects axially into the passageway from the second end of the quill to provide support for the curved intermediate portion of the laying pipe.

    摘要: A laying tube for producing wire windings from continuously introduced essentially straight wire material includes a first portion of an outer casing which is driven so as to rotate and receives a feeding tube for the wire material. Connected to the first portion is an outwardly expanding portion of the outer casing which includes a curved wire guide channel, wherein this guide channel is provided in the form of a groove in the outer surface of a hollow insert which is placed with fit in the expanding portion of the outer casing, and wherein the centrifugal forces of the wire are absorbed by the inner surface of the outer casing. The feeding tube and the insert form a structural unit which is releasably connected to the outer casing. This structural unit and, thus, the impact surfaces of the centrifugal forces of the wire can be moved in dependence on the localized wear of the inner surface of the outwardly expanding portion of the outer casing and relative thereto by a rotary movement about the longitudinal axis to an area which has not yet been worn out.

    摘要: The wire rolling mill has a plurality of roughing stands, a cropping shears, a finishing block, a coiler with a coiler pipe and a coiler drive including a coiler motor and a coiler gear unit and a delivery conveyor for the finished wire deposited in coils. The wire rolling mill also has a controller with a computer which controls the cropping shears with a predetermined rolling program by a computer shear command. The cropping shears cuts away a cropped length from the rolled wire rod workpiece prior to entry in the finishing block defined in the computer shear command thus producing a wire head to be deposited in coils. The cropped length of the wire is put in line with the position of the coiler. The coiler is provided with a rotation angle position transmitter operating with digital pulses which is connected with the controller and whose angular position corresponds to the coiler pipe positions. The controller combines the computer shear command and the digital pulses by an electronic AND-circuit into a shear positioning command and the cropping shears responds to the shear positioning command.

    摘要: A rolling mill laying pipe has a rigid external tube with an entry end for receiving a longitudinally moving mill product and an exit end through which the product is discharged. An intermediate portion of the tube between the entry and exit ends has a three-dimensionally curved configuration. A helical spring is axially received in and is radially confined by the tube. The spring is relatively tightly wound, with an inside diameter appropriately dimensioned to accommodate passage therethrough of the mill product. Retainer elements are provided at the tube ends for axially confining the spring within the tube. At least one of the retainer elements is detachable to permit removal and replacement of the spring.
