    摘要: The present invention provides a metal forming system, comprising a platform and a gantry means, in which the platform is provided with a plurality of lower mold bases bearing sheet metals, while the gantry means is provided with at least one upper mold base and a toggle unit. The gantry means is performing lateral displacement on the platform, so as to be displaced to a location above the lower mold base which is predetermined to operate. The toggle unit is for adjusting the longitudinal position of the upper mold base so as to change the distance between the upper mold base and the lower mold base, resulting in determining whether a mold-closing state or a mold-opening state. A metal forming operation is performed on the sheet metal between the upper mold base and the lower mold base so as to manufacture a metal formed part when the mold-closing state.

    摘要: An apparatus and method are provided for the simultaneous forming of a plurality of shaped articles from plural sheet metal blanks. First and second sheet metal blanks are arranged between upper and lower forming dies, and a nozzle body having a generally diamond-shaped cross-sectional profile, transverse to an insertion direction, is inserted between the sheet metal blanks. When the forming tool is closed, upper and lower sealing surfaces of the nozzle body press the first and second sheet metal blanks, respectively, against sealing beads that are arranged one each within peripheral areas of the upper and lower forming dies. Opposite side edges of the nozzle body converge one toward the other so as to facilitate forming a seal along each of the side edges of the nozzle body. A pressurized fluid is introduced via the nozzle body for forming the sheet metal blanks within a die cavity.

    摘要: Method of preforming and forming a sheet metal article from a preheated blank of sheet metal uses opposing dies including a punch having a punch surface defining a final configuration for the article and a cavity die having a cavity surface defining a preform configuration. The blank is placed between the dies and has a first side surface facing the cavity die and a second side surface facing the punch. A vacuum is applied to the first side of the blank to draw and shape the blank into the cavity die to a preform configuration conforming to the cavity surface. The punch and the cavity die are then closed toward one another and gas pressure is then applied to the first side surface of the blank to press the second side surface against the punch surface to the finish configuration.

The workpiece may be a tube or may be one or a plurality of sheets of a material. The apparatus has a chamber (12) adapted to contain a quantity of a fluid, a hydroforming means positioned within the chamber, and means for substantially immersing the workpiece in the fluid before, during and after the hydroforming operation. Dies (16, 18) enclose the workpiece and provide a cavity of desired shape against which the workpiece is expanded by the pressurized fluid. The chamber may be open or closed to the atmosphere during operation and the fluid temperature and/or level may be controlled.
