    摘要: A cutting tool has an adjusting mechanism for a cutting insert. The adjusting mechanism includes a wedge element in the form of a conical head on a set screw, as well as a sleeve mountable in the base body of the tool. Two jaws are included in the sleeve, a first one of which is wider than the second and has two rearwardly directed pressure surfaces for cooperation with two secondary support surfaces in the base body. A front surface on the first jaw is always kept pressed against a rear surface on the cutting insert, whereby the cutting insert is kept in a basic position. When the cutting insert is to be finely-adjusted, the second jaw is activated by tightening the set screw, whereby the second jaw supports itself against the base body, and then the first jaw is set in motion forwards in order to push out the cutting insert axially in fine steps.

    摘要: Reversible perforated cutter plates, bits or inserts are mounted in notches around the periphery of a rotary tool body by means of threaded gripping members adapted to clamp the cutter flat against the seating surface and tight against edge positioning surfaces when the clamping member is screwed into the tool body. The tapped bore into which the clamping member is screwed is inclined at an angle in the direction of the axis of the perforation of the cutter plate when the latter is seated on the seating surface, the angle being chosen to provide components of gripping force holding the cutter plate against the seating and positioning surfaces. The engagement of the gripping surface of the clamping member with the wall of the cutter plate hole is such that only a fraction of a turn of the clamping member is sufficient to tighten or release the cutter.

    摘要: A rotary cutting tool includes a tool holder and a tool body releasably attached thereto. The tool body has a cutting portion that includes a peripheral insert pocket, for retaining a cutting insert. The tool holder includes an adjustment arrangement that includes a biasing member, movably attached to the tool holder, having a biasing portion. The cutting portion is adjustable between a non-flexed position and a flexed position. In the flexed position, the cutting portion is elastically deformed in a forward direction due to biasing engagement with the biasing portion, thereby adjusting the axial position of the insert pocket and thus the cutting insert.
