    摘要: A metallic card wire has an elongated rib portion and teeth. The teeth have a front segment, a top segment and a back segment. The front segment has the connection of the tooth from the elongated rib portion and the front segment including a tip which is actively taking fibers in carding. The top segment has at least one hunch after the tip in the direction of the back segment. If more than one hunch is present the first hunch is the hunch positioned closest to the tip; if only one hunch is present this hunch is the first hunch. The back segment forms the connection of the top segment towards the elongated rib portion and the front segment of the next tooth.

    摘要: A reciprocating saw blade includes a body formed from a piece of coil stock. The body has a shank end configured to secure the blade with a reciprocating saw, a plunging end configured to enter a workpiece, and a cutting edge and opposite back edge extending between the shank end and the plunging end. The cutting edge has a plurality of teeth arranged in a pattern that includes left and right set teeth. A plurality of gullets is disposed between adjacent teeth. Each of the teeth and the gullets has substantially the same size, except that the first and third consecutive teeth immediately adjacent the plunging end have been flattened to be unset, and at least a portion of the second consecutive tooth has been removed to form an enlarged gullet between the first and third teeth.

At least one tooth tip along the cutting edge includes a different material, such as, for example, high speed steel, carbide, diamond, and/or a tip coating, than at least one other tooth tip along the cutting edge. The plurality of teeth may be arranged in a repeating pattern or in no pattern along the cutting edge. A method of manufacturing the saw blade includes forming a cutting edge along an axial edge of a blade body, defined by a plurality of cutting teeth having respective tooth cutting tips, wherein at least one tooth tip along the cutting edge includes a different material than at least one other tooth tip along the cutting edge.

    摘要: A hedge trimming tool having a fixed elongated blade mounted to the power head of the tool and a cutting blade mounted over the fixed blade and reciprocating relative to the fixed blade in the direction of the lengthwise axis. A leading side of the fixed blade has projecting fingers or teeth and the overlying portion of the cutting blade has projecting teeth that reciprocate across the openings between the fingers. The reciprocating teeth have sides configured in a complex curve forming an hour glass planar profile and an inverted U-shaped cross section. The U-shaped cross section is provideed by curving the sides of the teeth downwardly whereby the teeth sides are angularly projected through the plane defined by the bottom surface of the blade. The cutting edges along the sides are formed by grinding faces through the portions of the teeth projected below the bottom surface of the blade. The faces are formed in a single pass of the grinding implement with the faces parallel to the bottom surface of the blade.
