摘要: Aspects of a welding-type cable and torch are provided. The welding-type cable includes a power conductor to conduct welding-type power and a weld torch interface on a distal end of the welding-type cable to attach a weld torch to the power conductor. The welding-type torch includes a power connector to transfer welding-type power between the welding-type torch and a power conductor of a welding-type cable that is detachably coupled to the power connector. An electrode to perform a welding-type operation using the welding-type power is also provided.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a welding system capable of detecting a size of a welding material and automatically implementing appropriate arc starting parameters. The welding system includes a welder, a welding torch, and a sensor, in which the sensor is configured to detect the size of the welding material, directly or indirectly. The welder is automatically configured to produce an arc having the arc starting parameters determined from the size of the welding material detected by the sensor. The present disclosure decreases operational error by automatically changing arc starting parameters and/or welding parameters based upon a change in welding material size, rather than requiring an operator to manually change the arc starting parameters and/or welding parameters.

The contact tip may be adapted to abut a surface of a first member disposed within the welding gun. The surface may be a surface of a gas diffuser. The surface may be adapted to abut the contact tip. The contact tip also may be adapted for abutment with a second member to urge the contact tip toward the first member. The second member may be a portion of a nozzle adapted to abut the contact tip to urge the contact tip toward the surface of the first member. A method of assembling a welding gun also is provided. The method may include disposing a contact tip between a first and a second member and capturing the contact tip between the first and second members.

摘要: A welding torch with a welding electrode and a welding electrode holder is provided. One welding torch includes a securing mechanism and an insulated grip. The securing mechanism is configured to secure an exposed central portion of a welding rod bounded by flux covered first and second sides. The securing mechanism is also configured to make electrical contact with the central portion of the rod for arc welding with the first side. The insulated grip is configured to cover the second side of the welding rod.

摘要: The invention relates to a contact tip for a welding or cutting torch which includes at least one internal opening for guiding and engaging at least one welding electrode, wherein the internal opening is produced by deep drilling in a bar-shaped semi-finished product, such as a solid material. The use of drawn semi-finished products can thus be eliminated, thereby widening the range of material selection and reducing the cost of the semi-finished product.

摘要: An orbital welding apparatus includes a first housing defining a weld head assembly and a circular rotor disposed therein for rotation about a first axis. A welding electrode is carried by the rotor for welding. A second housing separate from the first housing forms a power transmission and has a second drive shaft extending therefrom. A flexible drive shaft connects the first drive shaft and the second drive shaft to conduct rotary drive forces from the first drive shaft to the second drive shaft while permitting the relative orientations of the first and second housings to be freely adjustable. A third and independent housing carries an electric drive motor and forms a power drive motor module with a rotary output shaft. A releasable clamping mechanism is provided for positioning and holding cylindrical members to be welded in an axially aligned relationship with their ends abutting in a single plane. A safety interlock mechanism is provided for sensing the releasable clamping mechanism in an operative position to prevent inadvertent operation or operation of the welding unit when the clamping mechanism is malaligned.
