    摘要: A feed screw and nut mechanism includes a nut having an internally threaded bore which threadingly engages an externally threaded feed screw. A runner bearing is attached to the nut and projects outwardly therefrom, and a dummy runner bearing is attached to the nut and projects outwardly therefrom and is angularly displaced from the runner bearing about the feed screw axis. The mechanism includes a stationary runner defining a runner surface that is engaged by the runner bearing to prevent rotation of the nut, and a dummy runner defining a dummy runner surface that engages the dummy runner bearing. The dummy runner and dummy runner bearing are biased toward each other such that the nut is rotatably biased in a direction to urge the runner bearing against the runner surface. The nut includes at least one rotatable drive bearing having a rotation axis perpendicular to the feed screw axis, and at least one rotatable driven bearing connected to the carriage and having a rotation axis perpendicular to both the feed screw axis and to the axis of the drive bearing. The drive and driven bearings make contact at their cylindrical surfaces to form a crossed bearing coupling for minimizing transmission to a carriage of force components which are not parallel to the axial direction along which the carriage travels. In a preferred embodiment, the nut mechanism includes a slave carriage, connected to the carriage, which supports a pair of crossed bearing couplings and which is rotatably connected to the nut to isolate the slave carraige from rotation of the nut about a transverse axis.

    摘要: A table feeder apparatus comprises a base, a feed screw rotatably supported on the base and a motor for rotating the feed screw about a feed axis. A feed nut is mounted on the feed screw and a block is mounted integrally with the feed nut. A table is disposed on the block for movement along the feed axis. In one aspect, a slide mechanism is disposed between the block and the table. The slide mechanism is slidable in at least one of a horizontal direction and a vertical direction transverse to the feed axis. During movement of the table, the slide mechanism slides to absorb a force applied to the feed nut, tending to displace the block and table in a direction transverse to the feed axis, to prevent the applied force from being transmitted to the table. In another aspect, the table is provided with an opening in which a table portion is removably fitted. Removal of the table portion facilitates maintenance of the slide mechanism without requiring the entire table feeder structure to be dismantled.

    摘要: A threaded ball screw is stationarily non-rotatably mounted in a machine tool to extend parallel to the line of action traversed by a carriage. A pair of threaded ball nuts are laterally restrained in and mounted for free rotation thereof in a drive mechanism of the carriage and threadably and concentrically engage the ball screw in laterally spaced apart co-axial relationship therealong. A pair of digitally controlled electric drive motors are mounted in the carriage for individually imparting rotational torque to the nuts. A conventional programmably CNC controller is programmed to synchronously control both motors for causing the ball nuts to conjointly produce computer controlled linear motion and positioning of the carriage along the stationary ball screw, and to develop anti-backlash pre-load forces between the ball nuts relative to the ball screw. The system can also produce an electromotive and/or frictional braking force for decelerating and/or holding the carriage in a selected stationarily fixed position along the line of action. The two motor rotors can exert rotational torque on the ball nuts simultaneously in the same or opposite rotary directions with the carriage moving and/or stationary. Pre-load forces exerted between the ball nut can be dynamically adjusted by monitoring the load and/or position of each of the motor rotors and adjusting the power input thereto individually while producing conjoint rotary motion of the motors to drive the carriage along the ball screw. The angular phase relationship between the motor rotors and hence between the ball nuts can be controlled to vary screw-to-nut backlash clearance as a function of carriage travel position and/or mode of machine tool operation.

Angularly spaced segments of resiliently compressible wire are seated in an annular groove in one face of the flange. When the flange is screwed onto the stud, the segments engage a shoulder on the nut and compress to enable the flange to be tightened to a position in which the flange is in a predetermined angular orientation relative to the ball return tube.
