    Abstract: A positive displacement pump (1) comprises a casing with a central body (2) and two closing lids (20), said central body (2) being provided with two cylindrical communicating chambers (22, 23), one suction pipe (I) and one discharge pipe (O), and two rotors (3, 4) revolvingly mounted in said chambers (22, 23) of the central body and supported by shafts (5, 6) revolvingly mounted in said closing lids (20). The two rotors comprise: a male rotor (3) comprising only protuberances (30), not cavities, and a female rotor (4) comprising only cavities (40), not teeth or protuberances.

The compressor, in at least some embodiments, includes: a housing including a cylindrical bore; a pair of gate rotors mounted for rotation in the housing, each gate rotor having a plurality of gear teeth; and a main rotor rotatably mounted in the bore and having a plurality of grooves, a plurality of lands, an additional groove, and an additional land; wherein the plurality of lands of the main rotor comprises a first wrap angle and the additional land comprises a second wrap angle, and the second wrap angle is distinct and different from the first wrap angle. In other aspects, a method of assembling a gate rotor in relation to a main rotor that is positioned within a single screw gas compressor configured for high output, and a main rotor device for use with a single screw compressor configured for high output are also disclosed.

    Abstract: A modulating check valve and method of operating the modulating check valve adapted for mounting to an inlet of a compressor. The modulating check valve includes a flow section through which fluid flow. The flow section has an intake portal and an outlet portal connected to the inlet of the compressor. A flapper valve is disposed in the flow section to prevent backflow from the outlet portal to the intake portal. An actuator controls the flapper valve allowing the flapper valve to open, close and modulate the fluid flow from the intake portal to the outlet portal of the flow section in response to fluid pressure at an outlet of the compressor.

    Abstract: A method of machining, with a formed tool, a first rotor and a second rotor with mutually complementary meshing threads involves rotating a first workpiece about a longitudinal axis of the workpiece. The tool makes one or more passes along the longitudinal axis of the workpiece as the workpiece rotates so as to remove material, thereby forming the flanks of each helix of the first rotor's thread. The value of at least one of the parameters that collectively define the relative position and relative movement of the workpiece and formed tool is varied during each pass so as to vary the lead of the thread. The above steps are repeated for a second workpiece, thereby forming the second rotor. Adjustments are made to at least one of said parameters during one or more of the passes in order to maintain mutually complementary shapes of the threads of the rotors.
