Abstract: A cutting roller includes a cutting roller body and a cutting knife assembly, and a knife groove is concavely formed in a peripheral wall of the cutting roller body. The cutting knife assembly includes a knife frame and a paper pushing frame arranged in the knife groove, and a blade mounted on the knife frame. The paper pushing frame is provided with a paper pushing groove matched and sleeved with the blade in a transmission mode, the paper pushing frame is slidably arranged relative to the cutting roller body in a circumferential direction of the cutting roller body. At least one of two ends of the knife frame extending along the knife groove is provided with a linkage component with a swing connecting portion and a driven connecting portion, and the swing connecting portion is rotatably connected with an end face of the cutting roller body.

Abstract: A cutting device includes: a frame; a fixed blade including a first blade edge portion extending in an extending direction; a movable blade movable in a moving direction; a driving mechanism; and a pressing member. The movable blade includes: a second blade edge portion; and a contacting portion. The second blade edge portion has a valley-like shape such that a center portion in the extending direction thereof is closer to the contacting portion than end portions in the extending direction thereof are to the contacting portion. The second blade edge portion has shearing angles that are inclination angles relative to the extending direction. The shearing angles includes a first shearing angle that is the shearing angle at each end portion and a second shearing angle that is the shearing angle at the center portion. The second shearing angle is larger than the first shearing angle.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for bi-directional cutters for Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) machines. One embodiment includes a bi-directional cutter for Automated Fiber Placement (AFP) manufacturing. The cutter includes a cutter body that has an upper edge and a lower edge, and has an opening placed between the upper edge and the lower edge that is dimensioned to enable passage of a tow of fiber through the cutter body. The cutter also includes a first blade disposed on the lower edge of the cutter body that is oriented to cut the tow when the cutter is driven downward, and a second blade disposed on an edge of the opening in the cutter body that is oriented to cut the tow when the cutter is driven upward.

Abstract: A cutter blade drive mechanism reliably returns a cutter blade from a forward position to a retracted position. A rotation transfer mechanism 34, which transfers rotation of a drive motor 31 to a drive gear 32, has a cutter blade return gear 50 that meshes with the drive gear 32, a compound gear (controller) 40 to which rotation from the drive motor 31 is transferred, and a transfer gear 51 that meshes with the compound gear 40 and the cutter blade return gear 50. While an intermittent teeth part 43a of the compound gear 40 and the transfer gear 51 are meshed, the cutter blade 21 moves to the forward position 21A. When the intermittent teeth part 43a and the transfer gear 51 are not meshed and the compound gear-side protrusion 44b of the compound gear 40 is in contact with a cutter blade return protrusion 50b of a cutter blade return gear 50, the cutter blade return gear 50 rotates in unison with the compound gear 40, the drive gear 32 turns in the opposite direction, and the cutter blade 21 returns to the retracted position 21B.
