    摘要: A process, apparatus and system for making a sterile connection between two thermoplastic resin tubes is disclosed. Side sections of the adjacently placed tubes are melted by passing a heated elongated body therethrough to form a molten seal between a surface of the heated body and the adjacent side sections, thereby providing a seal between the interior and exterior of said tubes. The resulting molten tube sections are urged together as they are slid off an end of the elongated body. As the thermoplastic resin cools a sterile weld is formed.

    摘要: Improvement in the process and apparatus of Application Ser. No. 236,766 filed Mar. 21 1971, now U.S. Pat. No. 3,769,124. There is described a technique for butt welding a trailing end of one roll of thermoplastic film or sheet material to the leading edge of another roll of such material by vertically superimposing the trailing and leading portions of the two rolls, aligning the lateral edges of such portions over a significant distance sufficient to insure angular alignment of the two rolls at the butt weld. Severing the two portions along a coincident transverse line, heating the severed portions to an extent sufficient to weld such together, and bringing the heated transverse edges of the two portions together while maintaining lateral edge alignment of said portions, whereby butt welding such into a continuous sheet.

    摘要: A blood bag sterile connection method includes the following steps: 1) placing blood bag tubes above the wire box, clamping positions to be cut by using the vascular clamps, and simultaneously moving the two vascular clamps in opposite directions; 2) heating the composite metal wire, and cutting the blood bag tubes by using the composite metal wire; 3) after cutting the blood bag tubes, aligning the blood bag tubes to be connected; 4) moving the two vascular clamps towards each other, rolling away the used composite metal wire, and rolling out a new composite metal wire; 5) connecting the blood bag tubes by heating the composite metal wire, and simultaneously moving the two vascular clamps towards each other; and 6) returning the wire box to the initial position, taking out the connected blood bag tubes, and returning the vascular clamps to the initial positions.

    摘要: A method for bonding together surfaces of two three-dimensional articles of foamed thermoplastic material along mutual abutting bonding surfaces. The method includes securing a pair of discrete articles together in a fixture means in a first mounting position with the bonding surfaces being disposed in substantially mutually abutting relationship to form a juncture zone. Thereafter, a heated element such as a heated wire or knife is passed through the juncture zone at a predetermined rate and into contact with both of the bonding surfaces, and with a parting line separation plate preferably leading the heated wire or knife through the juncture zone, thereby fusing portions of the edges of both discrete articles. A programmed motion is thereafter applied to at least one of the discrete articles to move the opposed abutting surfaces together and into contact along the bonding surfaces, with the motion moving the articles into a second bonding and setting position. The programmed motion is applied along a certain plane with the leading edge of the programmed motion lagging the motion of the heated element along a plane generally parallel to the plane of motion of the heated element, with the second bonding and setting position of the articles being maintained along substantially the entire area of the bonding surfaces until the fused portions become solidified.
