摘要: An ink image is formed on the side of a gauze of a screen master by discharging ink by an ink discharge apparatus, and collected visible rays or infrared rays are irradiated onto the ink image to heat the ink. Then, a thermoplastic resin film is perforated to form a plate making image corresponding to the ink image. The minute ink drops discharged from the ink discharge apparatus are held inside minute opening portions (pixels) of fibers configuring the gauze, and are put on the thermoplastic synthetic resin film bent by gravity. Thermosensitive perforation is carried out in this state, and thus a high-definition plate making image corresponding to the image configured using the ink drops in units of pixels can be obtained.

摘要: A stamp-face platemaking device transports a medium holder inserted into a plate insertion portion to a printing unit. The medium holder holds a stamp face material at a center portion of a plate-like member, and has a cutout portion in one side end portion thereof. An optical sensor detects the top end portion of the medium holder on a sensor scanning line in the inserting direction, and the cutout start point and the cutout end point of the cutout portion. The size of the stamp face material in the inserting direction and/or the size of the stamp face material in a direction perpendicular to the inserting direction are set based on the positions of two of the detected end portions. When the cutout end point is detected, platemaking with the stamp face material is started. The cutout portion can have a wedge-like shape or a U-shape, or can change its positions and/or sizes.

摘要: The invention provides a method for making a printing form having a relief surface on a floor from a photosensitive element. The method involves generating a polymerization rate curve for the photosensitive element from a step exposure test by measuring a cure response, such as floor thickness or one or more relief image characteristic/s, of the element relative to an energy density of a source of actinic radiation. The method exposes a photosensitive element to the source of actinic radiation based on energy density that accounts for changes in intensity of lamps used for the source of actinic radiation.

摘要: An apparatus and method for driving a printing press, which are capable of easily and properly performing a water process on a processless plate so that the labor of an operator can be lessened, and also capable of printing that employs the processless plate in order to suppress an increase in the make ready time of the printing press itself and an increase in waste paper due to the water process. The apparatus includes plate determining means for determining whether a printing plate placed on a plate cylinder (31b to 34b) of a printing unit by plate exchange is the processless plate. The apparatus further includes control means 9 which, if the printing plate is determined to be the processless plate by the plate determining means, performs control so that the plate cylinder (31b to 34b) is rotated at a preset speed without actual contact with printing paper and also the water process is performed only for a preset period of time.

摘要: This invention relates to a method for thermally developing a photosensitive element to form a relief pattern. The method includes heating a composition layer of the element to cause a portion of the layer to liquefy and providing a development medium under tension to the element to absorb the liquefied composition. The development medium includes an absorbent material and a support, the combination of which minimizes stretch and distortion of the absorbent material and can impede the migration of the liquefied composition through the absorbent material.

摘要: Thermally imageable elements comprising a masking layer and a substrate are disclosed. The masking layer contains a sulfated polymer or a mixture of sulfated polymers and absorbs both infrared and ultraviolet radiation. When the masking layer is on the substrate, the imageable element may be imaged and developed to form a photomask. When the imageable element additionally comprises a photosensitive layer, the masking layer may be imaged and developed to form an integral photomask. The imageable elements that comprise a photosensitive layer are useful as flexographic printing plate precursors.
