摘要: A micro-optic security device (105) includes a planar array of microlenses (305), which are configured to focus light along a plurality of focal paths (610) associated with a viewing angle. The micro-optic security device further includes an icon layer stack (905) disposed along the plurality of focal paths. The icon layer stack includes a first icon layer (620) with volumes of cured material of a first color (613b) and volumes of substantially transparent material at locations outside of focal paths of the first range of viewing angles. The icon layer stack also includes a second icon layer (640) with volumes of substantially transparent cured material at locations along focal paths of the first range of viewing angles, and volumes of cured material of a second color (637a) at locations along focal paths of a second range of viewing angles.

A first window (50) is at least partially surrounded by the first opaque region (21). A security device (51) comprises a transparent first device region (52) and a second device region (53) formed from a second device insert (55). The first and second device regions (52, 53) have different optical detection characteristics. The security device (51) is arranged in the plastic substrate (12) such that, when viewed in reflected light incident upon the first outer surface (13), at least part of the first device region (52) is visible at least partially around the second device region (53) in the first window (50).

摘要: A substrate is printed with front side and back side markings in a first color ink. The front side when viewed with reflected light includes a first marking printed in a first saturation and a first symbol printed in the first saturation. The back side when viewed with reflected light includes: a second marking printed in a second saturation; a second symbol printed in the second saturation; a third marking printed in the first saturation; and a third symbol printed in the first saturation. The first marking, the second marking, and the third marking are printed to provide an interlocking pattern of low saturation color and high saturation color when viewed with transmitted light. The second symbol is visible, and the first symbol and the third symbol are visible and indistinguishable, when viewed with transmitted light.

摘要: Personalizing a multipage security document by placing a laser-alterable ink layer on a personalization area of an edge of each of the sequence of pages. The method includes revealing a portion of the personalization area of each of the sequence of pages relative to a pages above said each of the sequence of pages such that the personalization portion of each two consecutive pages in said sequence of pages are located adjacent to one another thereby producing a two-dimensional multi-page personalization section, and creating a pattern on the two-dimensional multi-page personalization section by altering the inked personalization area in the revealed portion of each page of said sequence of pages by exposing said revealed portions to a laser, such that a pattern is visible when the revealed portions of a sequence of pages are viewed simultaneously.

This light diffraction layer laminated sheet material is provided with: a transparent sheet layer; a hologram layer that has a contour smaller than the contour of the transparent sheet layer and is laminated on one surface, which is the upper surface, of the transparent sheet layer; and an HS layer that bonds the transparent sheet layer and the hologram layer with each other.

摘要: An optical device includes: first grating regions each having a plurality of first grating elements each having a principal component of orientation substantially orthogonal to a first direction; and second grating regions each including a plurality of second grating elements each having a principal component of orientation substantially orthogonal to a second direction. At least a subset of the first grating regions each exhibit a diffractive colour such that a user viewing at a first viewing angle perceives a first diffractive colour image. At least a subset of the second grating regions are achromatic, each including a plurality of grating sub-regions having different respective grating element pitches and arranged such that, for a plurality of second viewing angles, the diffractive colours exhibited by the sub-regions cooperate such that the achromatic grating region is perceived to exhibit diffractive whiteness. The sets of first and second grating regions are interlaced.

摘要: A multilayered printed matter includes print layers (pattern layers) formed on a medium and having patterns printed thereon, and a concealing layer interposed between the print layers. The concealing layer conceals the pattern printed on one of the pattern layers not to affect the pattern of the other pattern layer. The concealing layer is formed on a back side relative to the other pattern layer. The print layers between the medium and one of the print layers on the back side of the other pattern layer (back-side print layers) respectively have recessed parts recessed into their surfaces toward the back side. The back-side print layer between the other pattern layer and the medium has a protruding part to fill one of the recessed parts and thereby planarize a surface of the back-side print layer. Hence achieving improved appearance and visual quality of the multilayered printed matter.
