摘要: A surface finishing method comprises applying coatings of a hydrophobic material and a water-borne material to a surface of a metal substrate. First, a patterned coating of a first one of the hydrophobic or water-borne materials is applied to a surface of the metal substrate to partially cover the surface. A second fill coating of the other of the hydrophobic or water borne materials is then applied after the first patterned coating whereby the water borne material and the hydrophobic material repel and the second fill coating coats the surface of the metal substrate in areas uncoated by the first coating.

摘要: A process for imparting a simulated patina appearance to a copper substrate, and a substrate having that appearance. A colorant having the desired initial patina color tone is employed to produce a non-continuous layer of colorant on the surface of a copper substrate. The appearance of patination of the desired tone is created by interspersed spots of colorant with the remaining portion of the substrate being exposed for natural patination. The interspersed spots of colorant may be produced by screen printing, by spattering, as by spraying, or by mechanical removal of colorant after application to the substrate surface, or a combination. The colorant is preferably a paint and may be applied by non-uniform spraying on the substrate surface. Non-uniformity may be accomplished by varying the volume of colorant sprayed during the application process or by varying the relative movement of the spray and substrate. After application, the colorant provides a simulated patina to the copper substrate surface while allowing the remaining (non-covered) portion of the substrate to patinate naturally.

摘要: An applicator is used at first to apply to a paper sheet an ink that is composed of two or more pigments and/or dyestuffs of different adhesional forces to the paper sheet, so as form an ink layer on the sheet along a desire pattern. Next, an erasing rubber is used to scrub the ink layer along a desire locus, in a freehand manner. Alternatively, the scrubbing may be done through a template overlaid on the ink layer. As a result, the pigments or dyestuffs weakly adhering to the paper will be removed from it, with the other pigments or dyestuffs remaining on the sheet, thus forming a desired linear figure in accordance with the desired locus, such that an epoch-making ornamental and visual effect is afforded in the drawn linear figures by this novel method.

摘要: A surface decorated article in which a surface is entirely or partially decorated with a coating membrane of a glitter paint using a flaky glitter material as a pigment, wherein paint particles at a low viscosity with a relatively high solvent dilution ratio formed by coarsely particulating a glitter paint and paint particles at a high viscosity with a relatively low solvent dilution ratio formed by coarsely particulating a glitter paint are coated in a state mixed with each other, to form a coating membrane of a glitter paint comprising areas in which the paint particles at a low viscosity are dried to solidify and areas in which the coated particles at a high viscosity are dried to solidify are mixed together in a spotwise pattern. The surface of articles can be provided with colors or textures exhibiting unique and high quality feelings.

摘要: A decorative sheet arranged on the outside or inside of buildings is composed of a compression-molded core made from one or more core layers. The core comprises cellulose fibers and/or wood fibers, bound to one another by a hot-curing resin. Each core layer is composed of wood fibers and/or of cellulose fibers having lengths from 0.3 to 30 mm, and is containing pigments or is without pigments. The pigments are uniformly distributed within the core layer, and their proportion by weight is from above 0 to 20% by weight of the mixture made from pigments and from wood fibers and/or cellulose fibers. The pigments are colorfast, and weathering of the wood fibers and/or cellulose fibers at the surfaces of the sheet causes the original coloration of the core surfaces to change so that, when dry, the core is covered by a gray-silver patina, but substantially regains its original coloration when wet.
