    摘要： A method for the temporary protection of patinated surfaces of copper products, in which an aqueous polymer dispersion is applied to the patinated surface, so that the polymer dispersion penetrates regions of the porous patina that are close to the surface, and in which the aqueous polymer dispersion is subsequently dried, so that it forms a composite with the patina that is permeable to water vapor diffusion. The polymer dispersion binds loose dust located on prepatinated copper products and simplifies the handling of the copper products. It behaves in a hydrophobic manner, but on the other hand it permits the required access of air moisture and water to the patina layer for further weathering.

    摘要： A method of weathering a model of an object is described. The model to be weathered most desirably is a hobbyist model, such as used by model railroaders and military modelers, and it is rust that is simulated. A suspension of a rust-colored coloring agent is applied to the surface of the model within a carrier which is adapted to spread the same as flakes over the surface. The carrier is then removed by drying the model to leave the flakes. A second coloring agent of a different color is applied to the model over the dried flakes to enhance weathered appearance.

    摘要： The present invention relates to a three-stage UV curing process whereby a UV-curable substrate is initially exposed to long wave length light of low intensity, thereby causing the bottom portion of the substrate to gel while leaving the top surface essentially unaffected. The first stage irradiation is followed by irradiation with shorter-wave length UV light under an inert atmosphere, thereby causing the surface of the substrate to gel. The final stage of the curing process involves conventional exposure to strong UV light whereby the entire structure is cured to give a product having finely controlled surface texture. The resulting products are useful as surface coverings, and particularly as floor and wall coverings.
