    摘要: A multi-unit mobile robot comprising a plurality of separate carriages or units linked together by linkages. Each unit comprises hinged first and second segments which facilitates pitch relative motion between the segments, and accordingly the units. By controlling actuators to the hinges, one can cause the robot to coil around and compress against the exterior, or compress against the interior, of an object to be traversed. The linkage between mobile units facilitates at least one of lateral pivot or yaw relative motion between units, and optionally roll.     摘要: Disclosed herein is a device for mounting a wheel to the tubular frame of a small appliance. The device includes a sleeve having an elongated body with a proximal end, a distal end, a channel running through the sleeve. A flange extends radially outwardly from the proximal end of the sleeve and a detent on the sleeve is spaced from the flange in the direction of the distal end of the sleeve. A mouth in the sleeve enables the detent to flex inwardly in response to pressure applied radially inwardly against the detent. There is a head at the distal end of the sleeve and a neck connecting the head to the elongated body of the sleeve. The device also includes an axle having an elongated body and opposing ends, with a hub on one end and a nose on the other end. A joint connects the nose to the body of the axle, and the joint is shaped to mate with the neck of the sleeve to lock the axle against axial movement relative to the sleeve.
