    摘要: A drone equipped with a camera, a wireless communication module, an acoustic sensor, a GPS receiver, software and collapsible floatation device patrols above swimmers. The camera and acoustic sensor capture the video and audio of the swimmers. The information is either streamed to a command center or processed by the onboard software. With audio and video analysis capabilities, software is used to detect a swimmer in distress (SID). Alternatively the information is streamed to lifeguard or volunteers all over the world to spot SID. Another detection method is to let swimmer wear a wearable emergency notification device, which sends wireless signals comprising GPS location data. A SID presses a button to indicate rescue request and the drones fly over by GPS signal guidance. Solar power is used as the optional power source of the drones, which would allow the to sustain operation for a prolonged period of time. Once a SID is identified, the drone or drones fly over the SID and drops the collapsible floatation device.

    摘要: An amphibious protection apparatus includes wall members that define an occupancy space for accommodating one or more users, and an access region for providing access to the occupancy space. Each wall member is foldably and detachably connected to each other. Each wall member includes a thick outer layer defining an outer enclosed space and an inner inflatable member having an inner enclosed space. The outer enclosed space accommodates the inner inflatable member. A fluid injected into the inner enclosed space inflates the inner inflatable member, thereby inflating each detachably connected wall member to form a buoyant enclosure that bounces on land and floats on water. The buoyant enclosure protects the accommodated users from impacts from different directions on land and water. The amphibious protection apparatus also includes an access port having an arrangement of lenses that enables magnification and viewing of objects present in an external environment.

    摘要: An inflation device is provided including a shell, a pin, a restraining element, and a moveable element. The shell is adapted to be coupled to an inflation canister. The pin is positioned within the shell. The pin is adapted to open a seal of the inflation canister. The restraining element is positioned within the shell. The moveable element includes a shape memory alloy. The moveable element is moveable from a first position to a second position responsive to electrical energy sent to the moveable element. While the moveable element is in the first position, the restraining element is secured within the shell to restrain the pin from opening the seal of the inflation canister. While the moveable element is in the second position, the pin is releasable to open the seal of the inflation canister.

    摘要: A device is provided for plugging a hole in a membrane. The device comprises a cap including a chamber for storing compressed gas, an inflatable bladder connected to the cap and a first conduit via which fluid can escape from a distal side of the membrane whilst the device is inserted into the hole. The device further comprises a first control means for controlling the escaping fluid through the device, a second conduit via which a compressed gas can flow from the chamber into the inflatable bladder and a second control means for controlling the flow of compressed gas from the chamber into the bladder. The bladder is arranged to be inserted at least partially through the hole in the membrane in a non-inflated state and at least partially inflated after it has been inserted therein.
