    摘要: Security apparatus and a method for preventing theft or unauthorized removal of instruments from the cockpit instrument panel of an aircraft and for preventing theft or unauthorized use of the aircraft. The apparatus includes a rigid plate substantially covering the instrument panel and two rigid arms pivotally secured to the plate inwardly of the columns respectively and laterally pivotable rearwardly away from and forwardly toward the plate. Each of the arms include an end portion for restrainably engaging the aircraft flight control yokes against rotation when the arms are pivoted to extend rearwardly away from the plate while the columns are fully rearwardly extended and the yokes are fully rotated to one side. A locking device is engageable with the end portions of the arms for locking the arms rearwardly extended and for cooperating with the yokes to prevent forward displacement of the columns while securing the plate against the instrument panel.

    摘要: A device for locking the ailerons and elevators of an aircraft controlled by a wheel-operated longitudinally shiftable and rotatable control column, and, at the same time preventing theft of the navigational instruments and radio equipment mounted on the instrument panel in the cockpit of the plane. The protective device takes the form of a cover plate mounted immediately adjacent the instrument panel by means of upper and lower clamping blocks secured about the control column in such a manner as to prevent unauthorized movements of the column and access to the instruments on the panel. The blocks have complementary semi-cylindrical grooves which clamp about the control column, and one block is fixed to the cover plate while the other has sliding, tongue and groove engagement to couple with said one block and clamp the control column against movement. The pair of blocks are held in clamped arrangement by a padlock whose shackle passes through aligned apertures in the blocks.

    摘要: A device for resiliently locking the controls of an aircraft having a pedal-controlled rudder and elevators and ailerons controlled by a wheel-operated, longitudinally shiftable and rotatable control column, and, at the same time, locking the main landing gear parking brake, if so desired. In the form shown, the device comprises a tube containing a series of suitable alternating spacer spring seats and interchangeable coil springs and having an adjustable member at one end formed with opposing slots to receive the edges of adjacent rudder pedals and an adjustable slotted element at the other end for receiving the wheel, the wheel receiving member having a rod and spacer extending therefrom into the tube, allowing limited movement thereof in either direction through the tube against the force of the springs. The wheel element and, if desired, the pedal member, are formed to receive a pin or a padlock for either temporarily holding or locking the same in place.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for rigidly interlocking a control wheel and the rudder pedals of an aircraft is provided for securing the control surfaces of the aircraft operated by the control wheel and the rudder pedals in a stable position. The apparatus comprises a pair of control wheel retaining members rigidly connected to one end of a rod member in a spaced apart, parallel relationship with one another for retainingly engaging opposing radially extending portions of the control wheel and a pair of rudder pedal retaining members rigidly connected to one end of another rod member in a spaced apart, parallel relationship with one another for retainingly engaging a lever of each of the rudder pedals. The rod members are disposed in a telescoping relationship with respect to one another and are adjustably securable whereby the control wheel retaining members are rigidly locked in a selected position relative to the rudder pedal retaining members wherein the control wheel retaining members cooperate with the rudder pedal retaining members to secure the control wheel in a level position, the control column in an inward position, and the rudder pedals in a neutral or centered position.

    摘要: An aircraft control locking apparatus for a control yoke on a control shaft extending from an instrument panel in an aircraft is provided. The aircraft control locking apparatus utilizing a pair of elastic shock cords, a first mechanism for connecting an upper end of each of the elastic shock cords in a spaced apart relationship to the control yoke and a second mechanism for connecting a lower end of each of the elastic shock cords in a spaced apart relationship to a fixed point on the instrument panel below the control shaft. The control lock retains the control yoke in a neutral position, keeping the control surfaces of the aircraft from moving freely, thereby preventing damage to the aircraft stored outdoors during periods of strong gusty winds in severe weather.
