Abstract: An environmental control system includes a rotary machine, a first bypass duct, and a first check valve in the first bypass duct. The rotary machine includes a compressor section and a first turbine section. Each section of the rotary machine includes an inlet, an outlet, a duct extending between the inlet and the outlet, and an impeller in the duct. The rotary machine also includes a tie rod mechanically connecting the compressor impeller and the first turbine impeller. The first bypass duct is between the compressor section and the first turbine inlet. The check valve opens the first bypass duct when an air pressure in the compressor inlet is higher than an air pressure in the first turbine inlet.

The fuel oxygen reduction unit assembly includes: a fuel oxygen reduction unit located downstream from the fuel source and defining a stripping gas flowpath and a liquid fuel flowpath, the fuel oxygen reduction unit comprising a means for transferring an amount of oxygen from a liquid fuel flow through the liquid fuel flowpath to a gas flow through the stripping gas flowpath; and an oxygen conversion unit in flow communication with the stripping gas flowpath configured to extract a flow of oxygen from a gas flow through the stripping gas flowpath, the oxygen conversion unit defining an oxygen outlet configured to provide the extracted flow of oxygen to an external system.

Abstract: An aircraft humidification system includes a first duct configured to guide a first air stream, and a second duct configured to guide a second air stream, the second duct including a humidifier for humidifying the air stream in the second duct. The humidification system further includes a first conduit for directing part of the second air stream to the first duct. The first conduit includes a first conduit inlet leading into the first duct and a first conduit outlet extending from the second duct. A second conduit directs part of the first air stream to the second duct, the second conduit including a second conduit inlet leading into the second duct and a second conduit outlet extending from the first duct. The first conduit outlet is arranged downstream of the humidifier, the second conduit inlet is arranged downstream of the first conduit outlet, and the first conduit inlet is arranged downstream of the second conduit outlet.

Abstract: A system for controlling an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) includes a processor and a storage medium storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to receive image data from a camera coupled to the UAV that is associated with a first view of the camera, send the image data in real time to a client device, and receive control data from the client device. The control data is associated one or more reference coordinates corresponding to a gesture-based input indicating a change from the first view to a second view of the camera. The gesture-based input is associated with at least one region of the image data. The instructions further cause the processor to control the UAV to change at least one of a position or an attitude of the UAV based on the control data.

Abstract: A control system for use in controlling a cabin blower system. The cabin blower system includes a gas turbine engine spool, a cabin blower compressor powered by the spool and arranged in use to compress fluid used in a cabin of an aircraft, and one or more control mechanisms via which the control system controls the power extracted by the cabin blower compressor from the spool. The control system is arranged in use to control the power extracted from the spool by the cabin blower compressor in accordance with one or more primary control parameters. The control system is arranged in use to alter the spool power extracted by the cabin blower compressor by comparison with the power that would have been extracted in accordance with the primary control parameters alone, in response to modifications in a secondary control parameter indicative of the commencement or occurrence of an engine transient.
