摘要： An improved filling spout for a bag filling machine of the type wherein a plurality of articles are filled in a rapid sequence in a bag which is subsequently closed. The novel filling spout is dropped down into the pre-opened bag and is pivoted outwardly against the inner walls of the bag while an external gripper means is pivoted inwardly against the external walls of the bag thereby firmly grasping the bag between the gripper means and the filling spout. The linkage which relates to the filling spout and the gripper means is designed so that the weight of the product increases in the bag, the effective result is an increase in the pressure between the filling spout and the gripper means. The novel configuration of the filling spout, in the shape of a pair of pivotable overlapping clamshells, minimizes spillage and reduces unpleasant dust that occurs during the filling operation especially when filling the bags with charcoal or the like.

摘要： An apparatus and method are disclosed for filling a package having an upwardly extending open mouth to prevent jam-up and breakage of the product. An arcuately shaped rod is moved in a rotary path in the mouth to cause the product to have a positive whirlpool action and induced spiraling in order to seek the best orientation to enter the package. The tip of the rod is positioned along the centerline of the rotary path and the centerline of the package to provide a full sweep within the vortex pattern and allow maximum space for entrance around the package for the spiraling product. Gentle agitation of the product to break up lumps is provided by a tortuous path within the vortex pattern and limited flexure of the rod. The whirlpool action is enhanced and the integrity of the product insured by feeding the product tangentially with respect to the vortex and operating the rod at the same speed as the merging product.

a) an open-mouth bag is placed beneath a filling spout of a filling station;
b) the filling spout is lowered and the open-mouth bag is appended to the filling spout;
c) the filling spout with the appended open-mouth bag travels upwardly so that the bottom end of the open-mouth bag is freely suspended; and
d) the filling process is started and bulk material is introduced into the open-mouth bag so that the freely suspended bottom end of the open-mouth bag unfolds.

摘要： In the overall system, vertically disposed, primary bags are filled with articles to a predetermined weight and conveyor means conduct the filled primary bags to a discharge point where a predetermined number of said filled bags are discharged at a discharge point and fall into an upright master bag, after which the filled master bag is carried away and closed, and an empty bag is positioned to receive primary bags of said predetermined number from said conveyor means.During the interval of time when a filled master bag is moved away from the receiving point where it is filled, and an empty bag replaces it, the discharge of bags continues at said discharge point, but are accumulated until the replacement empty master bag is in receiving position, and then the accumulated bags are released to fall by gravity into the empty master container as a unit, and the passage through the accumulator remains open until the additional bags to make up the total required predetermined number pass directly into the primary bag from said discharge point.Also the conveyor means toward the discharge point is continuous up to a transfer location and is intermittent from said location to the discharge point, and control means automatically precludes the occurrance of an underfilled master bag without stopping or slowing the conveyor means.

摘要： A dispensing apparatus and method for dispensing flowable solid materials, wherein the apparatus includes a container for holding dispensable material, a dispensing assembly, a lever locking assembly, and a receptacle. In operation, a receptacle is inserted into a receptacle receiving area. The receptacle engages a pivotable release arm to unlock a latch plate. The receptacle also engages a pivotable latch arm to slide the latch plate to unblock a lever slot, thereby allowing a lever to be urged downward by a user. As the lever is urged downward, a piston advances through an angularly disposed piston shaft to push dispensable material from a piston shaft upper portion into a spiral chute wherein the material gravity flows down the chute and into the receptacle in the receptacle receiving area. The apparatus may include a receptacle locking assembly to lock the receptacle within the receptacle receiving area while material is being dispensed.
