At least one of the at least two vacuum bar assemblies is transversely movably mounted on the main frame to alternatively increase and decrease the transverse distance therebetween to engage boards with the suction pads having suction applied thereto via the vacuum suction generating device for transport thereby, lift the boards via retraction of the extension and retraction device, and move the boards into adjacent proximity via transverse movement of the vacuum bar assemblies for transport of the boards.

    摘要: A high-speed stacker preferably includes dual stacking arms configured to operate complementary to one another. Most preferably, an electronic control system is provided to enable precise control over the speed and positioning of the stacker arms in both horizontal and vertical orientations. Linear motion devices (such as hydraulic cylinders, screw drive linear actuators, or other devices) can be used to position the arms horizontally and vertically in response to instructions from the electronic control system. In operation, the electronic control system preferably controls the speed and ramping of the stacker arms to repeatedly move courses of material from a feed system to a stacking area at a rapid rate with little maintenance. The high-speed stacker can also be configured to operate fewer than all of the stacker arms to facilitate faster stacking of smaller courses of material.

    摘要: Sticker handling apparatus include an actuating assembly that operatively supports one or more sticker support brackets. The actuating assembly includes a first actuator and a second actuator. The first actuator is configured to impart motion to the sticker support bracket in a first dimension and the second actuator is configured to impart motion to the sticker support bracket in a second dimension different from the first dimension. The actuating assembly can thus be selectively actuated to move the one or more sticker support brackets in a manner such that one or more stickers are contacted and lifted by respective sticker support brackets and moved from a sticker in-feed conveyor to respective sticker trays supported on respective fork arms with no substantial rotation of the one or more sticker support brackets.

    摘要: When depositing layers of lumber (19) onto a support surface to form a stack (17) of lumber, spacing sticks (2) are placed between the various layers at right angles to their longitudinal direction. One or more laying means (20), which carry the layers of lumber, move either continuously or intermittently towards, over, and away from said stack support surface (21) on which the layers of lumber are placed. The spacing sticks (2,2') are inserted between separate layers of lumber by means of a movable means (13) which, while engaging one end of respective sticks, feeds said sticks substantially parallel with the direction of return movement of the laying means (20). The problem of laying the layers of lumber and the spacing sticks in a manner such that they interfere with one another to the least possible extent is hereby solved in a simple and reliable manner. Preferably the engaging means feeds the spacing sticks separately from an overlaying magazine (1) and maintains engagement with respective spacing sticks until said means has reached a remote turn position, at which the spacing stick is deposited onto the stack support surface or onto a partly formed stack, or to a preferably pivotable spacing-stick guide means (18) arranged on the opposite side of the stack support surface. The invention also relates to a spacing stick laying means arranged adjacent a stack support surface (21) for receiving layers of lumber (19). The said spacing stick laying means is arranged to operate in the aforedescribed manner. To this end, the spacing stick laying means comprises means in the form of a clamping arm (13) having a spring-loaded jaw means (14) which, while engaging one end of a spacing stick (2), supports said stick in a free-bearing manner during said feed movement.

    摘要: A push-on type lumber stacker utilizes a pivoted conveyor for discharging the boards onto the stack and which starting from the outfeed conveyor level pivots upwardly in correspondence with the increasing height of the stack. The pivoted conveyor at its discharge end incorporates a plurality of remotely operable stick holders which hold the sticks as runners during formation of each layer and then release the sticks to serve as layer spacers. A plurality of rotary driven cams are also mounted on the discharge end of the conveyor to assist in pushing the boards onto the sticks.
