    Abstract: A printer device includes: a pair of rack gears arranged in a staircase-like shape on a paper conveyance direction side of a continuous paper accommodated in a recessed accommodation part that accommodates a roll-shaped continuous paper and having tooth rows arranged in a first direction orthogonal to the paper conveyance direction so as to face each other; a pinion gear fitted into the tooth rows; and a pair of paper guides that are respectively provided at a position of an upper rack gear that is closer to a center side in the first direction from one end portion in the first direction and a position of a lower rack gear that is closer to the center side in the first direction from another end portion in the first direction or the other end portion. The paper guide provided on the upper rack gear is mounted to an upper mounting part extending from a back surface of the upper rack gear opposite to the tooth row to the paper conveyance direction side.

    Abstract: A main object of the invention is to provide a sheet material separation-aiding apparatus that ensures that there can be a gap produced stably between a specific sheet material from a stack of sheet materials and a sheet material just below it, and that achieves size reductions, reduced energy consumptions and a decreased parts count. As shown in FIG. 4, the sheet material separation-aiding apparatus 1 comprises a rotating means 2 including an abutment portion 21 that is capable of coming in abutment on an end of the uppermost sheet material 101, a supporting means 3 that supports the rotating means 2 in a rotatable manner and is capable of moving in a vertical direction, a biasing means 4 that biases the supporting means 3 in a downward direction, and a lifting means 5 that lifts up an end 23 of the rotating means 2 in opposition to the abutment portion 21. As the end 23 is lifted up, it causes the rotating means 2 to rotate with the abutment portion 21 coming in abutment on the end of the sheet material 101, and as the end 23 is further lifted up, it causes the supporting means 3 and rotating means 2 to keep on going up while the rotating means 2 is kept from rotation by a counterforce that the abutment portion 21 receives from the sheet material 101.

    Abstract: A component supplying apparatus comprises a tape guide surface facing a lower surface of the carrier tape, a preceding tape contact part climbing onto a upper surface of the preceding carrier tape, and a subsequent tape blocking part configured to wait on the upstream side of the preceding tape contact part in a tape feeding direction while keeping a distance from the tape guide surface so as to enable the carrier tape to pass between the subsequent tape blocking part and the tape guide surface, and to move downwardly toward the preceding carrier tape when the preceding tape contact part is climbed onto the preceding carrier tape. The subsequent tape blocking part keeps the subsequent carrier tape waiting by contacting a front end of the subsequent carrier tape stacked on the preceding carrier tape onto which the preceding tape contact part climbs.

    Abstract: A lock-out device for an apparatus which guides strips of material toward a tire-building drum and which maintains the strip centered by compensating for minor variations in strip width. A pair of guide rails are adjustably mounted on a support housing and contain strip-engaging rollers which form a guide path for the strip moving therebetween. A panograph linkage is mounted on the housing and connects the guide rails for simultaneous movement of the rails toward and away from each other. A biasing mechanism, such as a spring or weight, biases the rails toward each other and the rollers into guiding engagement with the edges of the strip, and enables the guide rails to automatically move inward or outward to compensate for variations in strip width. The lock-out device includes a pressure-actuated piston which engages one of the guide rails, and when actuated, moves both rails apart and out of engagement with the longitudinal edges of the strip until the leading edge of the strip has been aligned and wrapped partially on the drum, and an angled front edge of the strip has moved beyond the guide rollers. The piston then is retracted and the biasing mechanism is operatively engaged with the guide rails to maintain the strip centered as it moves between the rails and around the tire-building drum.

    Abstract: According to a method of transferring a sheet through a working apparatus, a first sheet is moved by feed rolls partially into a working area of the working apparatus, which is followed by moving a second sheet by the same feed rolls to allow the leading end of the second sheet to be brought into abutment with the trailing end of its preceding first sheet and then to push the first sheet to a predetermined position within the working area. After the first sheet is thus placed and the second sheet is moved back out of the working area, the apparatus is operated to work the first sheet, for example, by pressing. The second sheet is moved forward into abutment with the trailing end of the worked first sheet and moved further while pushing the first sheet toward delivery rolls of the apparatus, which then removes the first sheet out of the working area of the apparatus. Such steps of operation is repeated to transfer a series of sheets successively through the working apparatus.

    Abstract: A diverter apparatus and method are provided for high-speed media processing for diverting media such as envelopes or envelope inserts including folded sheets of paper from a conveying path and in a divert direction substantially opposite to the direction of the conveying path. In the preferred embodiment, the diverter apparatus includes a rotation member such as a belt which can be moved in opposite directions and which includes a plurality of push members thereon for engaging and conveying media. A closed-loop servomotor or a step motor can be utilized to drive the belt. In an advance mode, the belt rotates so that at least one push member causes media to be conveyed in the direction of the conveying path. In a divert mode, rotation of the belt is reversed so that at least one push member diverts and conveys media in a divert direction opposite to the direction of the conveying path. Diverted media is advanced to a divert chute through which it can pass to a collecting bin.
