摘要: A continuous body folding device includes a conveying part having a moving surface that moves while suctioning and holding a first region of a continuous body, the conveying part conveying the continuous body in the longitudinal direction thereof; a first folding reference part in which a first endless belt, which moves in a first circulatory pathway along a first virtual plane including the moving surface, moves along a first reference segment adjacent to a virtual line of the continuous body in the same direction at the same speed as the moving surface; and first guiding members that are disposed along the first reference segment, contact a second region of the continuous body, and fold the continuous body along the virtual line and move the second region toward the first region so that the angle formed by the first and second regions becomes smaller as the continuous body is conveyed downstream.

摘要: In a printing system capable of supplying a sheet of a job having undergone print processing by the printing unit of a printing apparatus to a post-processing unit capable of executing at least a specific type of post-processing among a plurality of types of post-processes, when the target job requires the specific type of post-processing, the printing apparatus is inhibited from executing print processing of the job without explicitly determining a sheet necessary for the print processing of the job by a user using a user interface unit. When the target job does not require the specific type of post-processing, the printing apparatus is permitted to execute print processing of the job without explicitly determining a sheet necessary for the print processing of the job by the user using the user interface unit.

摘要: A method for generating a folding instruction for folding a stack of sheets into a document includes the steps of, for each sheet of the stack of sheets, receiving a folding action on the sheet defined by a fold type and an orientation relative to an observer, the fold type selected out of a mountain fold right, a mountain fold left, a mountain fold bottom, a mountain fold top, a valley fold right, a valley fold left, a valley fold bottom and a valley fold top; generating a function which has the folding action and the sheet as input and an ordered list of new sheets with an orientation relative to the observer of each new sheet of the list of new sheets as output; repeatedly applying the previous steps to each sheet of the at least one list of new sheets until the sheets in the last applied previous steps form the document; and generating a folding instruction including a concatenation of the at least one generated function on the stack of sheets, the folding instruction intended to be transmitted to a folding device for folding the stack of sheets into the document. A folding device and a document processing system for applying the method are also disclosed.

摘要: A sheet conveying apparatus (20) includes a first sheet conveyance passage (3), a second sheet conveyance passage (5), a pair of feed rollers (3r1), a first pair of conveyance rollers (50), and a contact-release mechanism (60). The second sheet conveyance passage (5) branches from a branch section (31) on the first sheet conveyance passage (3). The first pair of conveyance rollers (50) has a first roller (51) and a second roller (52) and conveys a sheet along the first sheet conveyance passage (3). When, in the branch section (31), a sheet is conveyed from upstream with respect to the sheet conveyance direction in the first sheet conveyance passage (3) toward the second sheet conveyance passage (5), the sheet conveying apparatus (20) makes the contact-release mechanism (60) move the second roller (52) away from the first roller (51) and makes the pair of feed rollers (3r1) convey the sheet.

摘要: The present invention provides methods (100a or 100b or 100c) and machinery (200a, 200b & 200c) for making informational items (550a, 550b & 540c). The methods comprise steps of feeding a sheet (480a, 480b 480c) to a first folding machine (210a, 210b, 210c) for obtaining a strip (500a, 500b 500c).The strip is virtually divided into equal segments by marking fold lines thereon. A first cross folds on the strip using a second folding machine for obtaining a first folded strip (510a or 510b) having a first folded segment (512a or 512b) and a second folded segment (514a or 514b) with equal or unequal predefined lengths. A plurality of cross folds is performed on the first folded strip for making the final informational item. The methods and the machinery decrease the value of the ratio of the layer thickness (ts), thereby increases the easiness of folding operations.
