    Abstract: The provided containers (100, 200) and methods provide for gravitational alignment of a plurality of stacked articles (120), in which at least two edges (140, 142) of each article align along inner walls (108, 114, 208, 214) of a respective container. The aligning walls of the container are provided with low-friction surfaces to facilitate sliding and alignment of the articles. By aligning the stack of articles along two edges, the articles can be registered relative to not only each other but the container itself, thereby facilitating loading, unloading, and conversion of articles in the stack. Optionally, a compressible layer (147) opposing one or both of the aligning walls conforms and distributes stress along the non-aligning edges, thereby preserving registration of the articles relative to each other when the container is transported.

    Abstract: To make it possible to suitably deliver articles in a system that delivers articles from a supply device to a receiving device. The delivery system includes: a supply device having a supply port for supplying an article; a receiving device having a receiving port that is able to receive the article that is supplied from the supply port; and a detection unit that is capable of detecting: a first state in which the supply device and the receiving device are joined by the supply port engaging with the receiving port; a second state in which the supply device and the receiving device are close together and there is a space between the supply port and the receiving port; and a third state in which the supply device and the receiving device are separated and the space between the device is wider than in the second state.

    Abstract: A recording apparatus includes a recording unit, a discharge unit, and a medium receiving unit. The medium receiving unit has a sheet section which is flexible and of which a front-end portion is disposed to be closer to a discharge side of a recording medium than a terminal-end portion. When the medium receiving unit is transited from a serviceable state to an accommodated state, the front-end portion of the sheet section becomes closer to the terminal-end portion of the sheet section and a connection portion between the front-end portion and the terminal-end portion of the sheet section moves to a side opposite to the discharge side.

    Abstract: The negative pressure roll 1 is provided with a rotating shaft 2, an internal cylinder 3, an intermediate cylinder 4 and a multi-layered non-woven fabric laminated outer layer 5. Further, the rotating shaft 2 is a member at the center of rotation of the negative pressure roll 1 and connected to the internal cylinder 3 by a reinforcement circular disk 9. Still further, the internal cylinder 3 is formed in a tubular shape and rotates together with the rotating shaft 2. In addition, the rotating shaft 2 and the internal cylinder 3 correspond to a rotating main body. Further, the intermediate cylinder 4 is a cylindrical tubular material formed outside the internal cylinder 3 and rotates in association with the rotating shaft 2 and the internal cylinder 3. Still further, the multi-layered non-woven fabric laminated outer layer 5 is formed outside the intermediate cylinder 4 and given as a part at which the negative pressure roll 1 is in contact with the metal strip 13. The multi-layered non-woven fabric laminated outer layer 5 also rotates in association with the rotating shaft 2, the internal cylinder 3 and the intermediate cylinder 4. In addition, the negative pressure roll 1 is provided with a controller 6 for suppressing rotation of the negative pressure roll 1.
