摘要: An elevator counterweight assembly (11) includes a counterweight structure (38), at least one safety brake (12a, 12b) mounted on the counterweight structure (38), and a safety actuation mechanism (16) including a connection (17) for a suspension member (18). The safety actuation mechanism (16) is configured to move, relative to the counterweight structure (38), between a normal position, and a safety position. In the safety position the safety actuation mechanism (16) is arranged to actuate the at least one safety brake (12a, 12b) and thereby brake the counterweight structure (38). The counterweight assembly (11) also includes a mechanical actuator (22), configured, when actuated, to apply a force to the safety actuation mechanism (16) and thereby move the safety actuation mechanism (16) from the normal position to the safety position, e.g. for the purposes of a handover test.

摘要: An elevator includes an elevator hoistway with an elevator car arranged to move therein. The elevator car includes an interior bounded by at least the elevator care roof. A frame structure includes two parallel, horizontal, elongated roof beams that are at a horizontal distance from each other. Between the roof beams is a trough that has an upward-facing base surface, and a standing platform in connection with the roof of the elevator car that includes a standing surface, immediately above which is a space free of the parts of the elevator car and free of the ropes of the elevator, for enabling standing on top of the standing surface at least when the elevator car is situated at a distance from the top end of the elevator hoistway. The standing surface forms at least a part of the base surface of the trough.

摘要: A system for sanitizing an enclosed structure has a plurality of sensors, a germicidal ultraviolet light source, and a controller. A first sensor detects the presence of humans or animals within the enclosed structure, and a second sensor detects the position of at least one door of the enclosed structure. The ultraviolet light source provides electromagnetic radiation in the ultraviolet range. The controller receives inputs from the first and second sensors and instructs emission or cessation of emission of the electromagnetic radiation based on the received input.

摘要: To alleviate the ear block discomfort of passengers without causing any undue reduction in the operational efficiency of an elevator. A travel distance calculating section 13 calculates a travel distance of a car room 1 based on destination floor information 12a and a car position command signal 3a, and output travel distance information 13a to a speed pattern generating section 14. The speed pattern generating section 14 compares the travel distance with a predetermined distance, generates a speed pattern 14a of a normal operation if the travel distance is short, and generates the speed pattern 14a of a partially low speed operation if the travel distance is long. The predetermined distance indicates a difference in height corresponding to a difference in air pressure that causes the Eustachian tube to open against ear block discomfort by a passenger. A speed control section 24 makes the car room 1 move up and down based on the speed pattern 14a. This allows the car room 1 to move at low speed after the first opening of the Eustachian tube, and therefore an interval in time when the car room 1 moves of a distance of the difference in height causing another ear block discomfort is made long. The ear block discomfort of passengers may thus be alleviated.

摘要: An elevator cab ceiling includes an upper ceiling panel and a lower ceiling panel that are vertically spaced apart from each other with an intermediate ceiling cavity between them. An inlet duct is associated with the upper ceiling panel and an outlet duct is associated with the lower ceiling panel. The inlet and outlet ducts are horizontally spaced apart from each other and are fluidly connected to each other through the intermediate ceiling cavity to form a ventilation path. This separation of inlet and outlet ducts by an intermediate ceiling cavity reduces airborne noise transmissions that enter an elevator cab through the ventilation path. In one example, at least one baffle is installed within the intermediate ceiling cavity between the inlet and outlet ducts to interrupt a flow between the inlet and outlet to further reduce any transmitted noise.

摘要: In an elevator system having an elevator control unit and an atmospheric pressure control unit, an elevator operation state monitor monitors the operation state of the elevator control unit, and an atmospheric pressure control state monitor monitors the operation state of the atmospheric pressure control unit. When a trouble in the elevator operation or atmospheric pressure control is detected, a minor/major trouble judgment unit judges the seriousness level of the trouble, and a rescue mode selector selects a rescue mode. In this case, when the atmospheric pressure control is abnormal, it is judged a major trouble, and a mode to ensure ventilation in an elevator car is selected. This enhances the safety in a highly airtight elevator such as a superhigh-speed high-rise elevator.

摘要: An apparatus for ventilating the passenger space of a rapidly moving elevator car generates an air flow through the car during the travel of the car in an elevator shaft. A plurality of ventilation slots are provided one above the other and open to the passenger space of the elevator car and to a ventilation channel extending vertically in one wall of the elevator car. The total cross-sectional area of the ventilation slots is approximately twice as great as the cross-sectional area of the ventilation channel. The ventilation slots are formed by carrier slots in a sheet metal carrier on which a plurality of strips of a laminated material plate are attached on a passenger space side thereof and on which a perforated metal reinforcing plate is spot-welded on a rear side thereof. The reinforcing plate has rows of apertures formed in generally V-shaped grooves aligned with the ventilation slots. The grooves space the apertures from the carrier. The cross-sectional area of the apertures in any groove is at least equal to the cross-sectional area of the associated ventilation slot.
