    摘要: A method removes a follower plate of a device for transporting viscous material out of a barrel-like container. The device has the follower plate for closing the container, which is open at the top and has a container base and a container casing extending upwards from the base, the follower plate being movable toward and away from the base. A force measuring sensor measures a force exerted by a container onto a placement surface; the controller switches the ventilation mode to the lifting mode if the force exerted by the container onto the placement surface exceeds a first target force value; and the controller switches the lifting mode to the ventilation mode if the force exerted by the container onto the placement surface falls below a second target force value, and/or the at least one sensor measures the position of the container relative to a stationary point.

    摘要: This invention relates to an apparatus and system for transporting a container containing viscous liquids to an appropriate dispensing apparatus. The invention comprises a transition plate that fits over a floor plate of a pump elevator, and particularly over an air tube that joins adjacent vertical air cylinders of the pump elevator. A rollable cart is provided with specific clearances to accommodate the transition plate, and, when supporting a drum, allow for proper clearance between the top of the drum and the ram assembly.

    摘要: A method and an installation for dispensing a flowable material. The material (11) is contained in a sleeve 60 positioned in a container (12) underneath a follower plate (36). The follower plate (36) is moved into the container (12) and in the process the material (11) is dispensed via a conduit system. On its contour, the follower plate (36) has a sealing element (50) which can be displaced between a sealing position and a retracted position. In the sealing position this sealing element (50) rests against the inner container surface (16) and constitutes a sealing device. In the retracted position the sealing element (50) is spaced apart from the inner container wall (16) and, together with the latter, delimits an opening (50) for venting the space underneath the follower plate (36).

    摘要: An apparatus for unloading heat meltable material from a container including a vertically moveable platen assembly having a platen supported by a platen carriage. The weight of the platen assembly is trapped between a balance spring which urges the platen assembly upwardly and a pressure spring which exerts a downward pressure on the platen assembly. The springs are fixed about a motor driven lead screw retaining the balance spring against the platen assembly from below and a pressure adjusting nut retaining the pressure spring against the platen assembly from above. Descent of the lead screw without an equivalent movement by the platen assembly will cause a disequilibrium in spring tensions as the balance spring expands and the pressure spring compresses. A limiting switch restricts the amount the lead screw can move after platen contact with the heat meltable material prevents further platen carriage movement. As material is dispensed the platen carriage will slowly catch up with the position of the turn screw and eventually the limit switch will once again engage, allowing the lead screw to descend some preselected incremental amount determined by the limiting switch. The apparatus also contains an applicator head safety switch activated during extended periods of nonuse. When activated, the safety switch prevents lead screw movement.

    摘要: An improved cartridge-type pump provides inlets on each side of the pump to increase capacity from a material source disposed at one end of the pump housing. Moving pump gears are removed from a pump body to a lower end thereof and wear plates and gear ring define, in combination with a surrounding pump housing, upper and lower inlets of high volume capacity, respectively communicating between the material source at one end of the pump and both inlets of the pump. Increased intake to the upper inlet is provided, without internal machining of inlet ports in the lower end plate or the gear plate, and even though the gear plate is partially disposed in the housing sleeve between the upper inlet and the material source.

The head inlet passage includes flow control means for retaining melted material within the reservoir, and the head includes means for improving the heat exchanging characteristics between the head and the material confined within the reservoir.
