    摘要: An insert rapier includes a weft-holding portion at a bottom portion of a rapier head. Rear and front walls are provided at a distal side of the rapier head with respect to the weft-holding portion and protruding from both sides of the bottom portion, thereby having a warp-dividing function. The insert rapier can guide a weft, which intersects with warps at a predetermined angle, to the weft-holding portion. The rapier head includes a tongue piece provided at the distal side with respect to the weft-holding portion, in a region between the weft-holding portion and the rear wall. The tongue piece has a distal tip located lower than the rear wall, and has an upper ridge gradually ascending from the distal tip toward a proximal side. The tongue piece is movable to a position above the rapier head or toward the proximal side.

The drawing gripper is configured to define a longitudinal cavity extending from its forward end facing a filling to be received and positioned by the gripper to its opposed rearward end. The cavity of the gripper faces towards and partially encloses the deflection guide. The forward tip of the gripper includes an inclined surface for guiding a filling to a positioning device on the gripper, and a yarn clamp is also carried by the gripper. The gripper includes additional receiving and positioning devices for a filling to be inserted in the loom shed.

The guiding member includes two metal plates mounted between two resilient shims which allow the plates to be forced apart to receive a blade moved vertically into the path of the guiding member as the shuttle enters the shed to thereby sever the yarn. In an alternate embodiment, the guiding member is fixed adjacent the shed and the blade is carried by the shuttle.

    摘要: In a carrier tape for shutttleless looms the juncture of the carrier with the tape upon which it is mounted is strengthened to resist breakage by reducing the flexing stresses in the area of the tape where the tails of the carrier are joined to the tape. The aforesaid flexing stresses are reduced by tapering the tails of the conventional carriers to a contour that provides a more gradual angular convergence with the tape, and secondly, by filling the conventional bubble in the tape with a tin alloy to stiffen the bubble area of the tape and thus move the flexing stress from the area behind the carrier to the area behind the bubble where the tape is stronger.

    摘要: A method of weaving including warp and weft being supplied in the form of tapes, and not yarns. The method preferably carried out in vertical format and includes feeding positively flat tensionless warp for shedding and taking-up; selecting, feeding positively and inserting weft tapes of different widths and thickness by gripping in its fore end in flat condition; depositing inserted weft at fabric-fell in a flat condition without beating-up; and taking-up the woven material that includes either the same or different widths of flat wefts. The warps and wefts, preferably of partially stabilized type of fibrous tapes, can be overfed in a tensionless, positive and controlled manner when required to make the fibres of constituent fibrous tapes occur non-linearly in the form of wave/texture during weaving. Extra warps and wefts can be also fed in tandem whereby the warps and wefts become composed of two or more unconnected, mutually slipping, flat tapes in a stacked arrangement. These doubled warps and wefts function effectively as a unit warp and weft during weaving and in the fabric. The method also allows for the production of other materials such as those with slant weft tapes in relation to warp, having a shape within the body of the fabric and warp and weft tapes of shaped edges. A variety of fibrous and non-fibrous materials are equally well processed.

    摘要: Novel woven materials, producible by a new weaving method, are described that comprise single or doubled warps and wefts in the form of tapes that are preferably partially stabilized type of fibrous tape. These fibres are caused to occur in a non-linear arrangement during the weaving process. The non-linear fibres can be subsequently straightened by pulling the tape longitudinally. The doubled warps and wefts comprise disconnected tapes. Such separateness of constituent tapes of doubled warp and weft tapes enables them to be slid/slipped relative to each other by pulling longitudinally and laterally without causing any alteration in the woven structure. These novel fabrics solve the problem of uneven fibre distribution and orientation arising from crumples/wrinkles due to compression and stretches due to extension, at the inner and outer sides respectively, when tape-woven fabrics are curved into shapes. Further, by using doubled warps and wefts fabrics with relatively flat/planar sections and thicker/raised wide rib sections can be also created that resemble a bit like a profiled material in its cross-section. Other fabrics like those comprising slant/oblique weft tapes, shaped warp and weft tapes, formed shape within its body are also producible.
