摘要: A system and method for monitoring and adjusting a constant flow asphalt manufacturing process includes monitoring the ratios of recycled material to virgin material to minimize costs and adjusting the mixture in real time. Pulverized asphalt shingle (PAS) material may be used as a source of recycled asphalt oil and fed to a mixing drum with real-time monitoring while making real-time adjustments to supplement the asphalt with new asphalt oil to the mixer. The systems and methods may also be used for monitoring, metering, and supplementing recycled aggregate from recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) with new aggregate. The systems and methods may use one or more processors or programmable logic controllers (PLC) to meter the addition of new materials.

摘要: Asphalt mix product is produced for delivery at a desired temperature and is comprised of a mixture of recycled asphalt product and virgin material in a specified, selected proportion of recycled asphalt product to virgin material. Recycled asphalt product is heated in an indirectly heated recycled asphalt product heater to an elevated temperature. Virgin material is heated in a heater to a maximum temperature not exceeding a prescribed temperature above which damage to that heater will occur. The heated recycled asphalt product is mixed with the heated virgin material in the selected proportion of recycled asphalt product to virgin material to prepare the asphalt mix product for delivery at the desired temperature. By virtue of heating the recycled asphalt product and mixing the heated recycled asphalt product with the heated virgin material, the selected proportion of recycled asphalt product to virgin material is not limited by the maximum temperature of the heated virgin material, and asphalt mix product is produced effectively and economically with proportions of recycled asphalt product to virgin material which are considerably higher than heretofore available.

摘要: A system and method is provided for processing scrap FRP for use in the production of concrete or asphalt construction or paving material. In the process, the scrap FRP is comminuted, ground or pulverized into particle sizes suitable for combination with the base paving material. In one preferred embodiment, the scrap FRP is processed into particles of about null inches in outer dimension. This processed scrap FRP is then mixed at the job site with other aggregate materials for combination with the base material to form a paving mixture that is applied to the prepared surface. In one embodiment, the scrap FRP material is passed through an industrial chipper or shredder and the comminuted particles are then combined with materials in a paving materials processing drum at the job site.

摘要: The subject invention relates to a process for coating aggregate which is particularly useful in making asphalt concrete to provide the aggregate with a high level of resistance to stripping by water, which comprises: (1) mixing the aggregate with latex to form a latex/aggregate mixture, wherein said latex is comprised of water, an emulsifier, a polymer and a water-soluble divalent metal salt; (2) heating the latex/aggregate mixture to a temperature which is within the range of about 66.degree. C. to about 232.degree. C.; (3) maintaining the latex/aggregate mixture at said elevated temperature for a time which is sufficient to reduce the moisture content of the latex/aggregate mixture below about 0.7 weight percent and to allow the polymer in the latex to crosslink on the surface of the aggregate to produce the coated aggregate.

摘要: An improved paving composition includes between 89-93% graded aggregate, 5.76% asphalt cement, 0.24% SBR polymer and 1-5% graded recycled crumb rubber. The asphalt cement and SBR polymer are blended and heated to form a first mixture. The aggregates are blended and heated to form a second mixture. The two mixtures are blended together prior to the addition of the graded recycled crumb rubber.

摘要: A continuous process aggregate drying and mixing plant for producing a hot asphaltic material, such as is used for paving highways or the like, includes a combination of a drum drier and a pugmill. Both the drum drier and the pugmill are supported by a common trailer frame. The pugmill is coextensively mounted at the discharge end of the drum drier towards the rear of the frame. The drum drier discharges dried and heated virgin aggregate material through a feed and transfer chute directly into a first, pre-mix region of the pugmill. The feed and transfer chute also provides for the addition of recycled pavement to the heated and dried aggregate and for the side discharge of such heated and dried aggregate. A second region of the pugmill within which liquid asphalt is added to the mixed aggregate is substantially separated from the first, pre-mix region. The space above the second region of the pugmill is substantially enclosed and coupled directly to a secondary air supply of a burner for the drum drier. Thus, vapors emanating from the second region of the pugmill are drawn into the burner and burned to form environmentally friendly products.

摘要: Disclosed is a plant of batch system for producing a composite paving material by using a bituminous waste pavement material, which comprises a heating means equipped with a new aggregate material introduction shoot and a bituminous waste material introduction shoot, the former shoot being connected to a new aggregate material supply passageway and the latter shoot being connected to a reproduction material supply passageway. The plant also comprises a ratio control section which is intended to compare with each other respective supplying indicated values of new and waste aggregate materials as measured by conveyor scales disposed with respect to their corresponding supply passageways, and thereafter proportionally control the value of the waste material relative to the value of the new material so that both the values may bear a predetermined mixing ratio. The ratio control section, thereafter, generates a command control signal to an inverter involved in the waste material supply passageway.
