    摘要: A window, with a hybrid sash counterbalance and assist mechanism, includes a frame having upper and lower sashes slidable within the frame. A sash coupling element extends between the upper and lower sashes. The hybrid sash counterbalance and assist mechanism is coupled with the sash coupling element. The window with the hybrid sash counterbalance and assist mechanism is operable in a sash counterbalance mode and in an independent sash movement mode. In the sash counterbalance mode, movement of the upper or lower sash causes converse movement of the lower or upper sash through the sash coupling element. In the independent sash movement mode, one of the upper and lower sashes is held static while the other of the lower or upper sashes is moved.

The mechanism may include a fixed length cable, a pulley, first and second brackets and an adjustment member. The fixed length cable may include first and second ends. The pulley may support the cable. The first bracket may include one or more attachment points relative to the first end of the cable and may include an upper end and a lower end. The second bracket may be movable relative to the first bracket and may be configured to support the sash. The adjustment member may engage and extend through the lower end of the first bracket and may be movable relative to the first bracket to cause corresponding movement of the second bracket relative to the first end of the cable.

    摘要: A device for fine adjustment of sashes in a double-hung sash assembly of the type comprising four movable sashes linked two by two by a set of two cables located on each side of the window frame and supported by four pulleys. At least two pulleys, and preferably four, are operatively attached to a support slidably mounted in a vertical rail provided in a housing. Each support is moved by means of a screw for adjusting relative positions of sashes, each screw comprising an upper end abutting on or operatively attached to one of the supports, an intermediary portion meshed to an element integral with the housing and a lower end downwardly projecting from the housing and preferably operable with a screwdriver. It allows fine adjustment of the relative position of a pair of sashes linked together to thus allow them to close simultaneously.
