Abstract:
A method of assembling a modular ladder system includes providing the modular ladder system in an unassembled configuration, the modular ladder system comprising a plurality of ladder modules stacked on a ladder base and comprising first and second ladder modules each defining a first end and a second end; removing the second ladder module from the ladder base; coupling the first end of the first ladder module to the second end of the second ladder module to define a ladder, the ladder defining a first ladder end and a second ladder end, the second end of the first ladder module defining the second ladder end and coupled to the ladder base; elevating the first ladder end of the ladder to orient the ladder at an angle relative to the ladder base; and engaging the first ladder end with an elevated support surface of an elevated structure.
Abstract:
A mobile work stand for working on work areas including a fence. The fence includes a plurality of adjacent first and second fence sections that are pivotally connected to each other to enable the fence to be configurable in different fence positions. Each fence position is configured to enclose a different configured work area.
Abstract:
A ladder assembly for a work vehicle comprises a deck affixed horizontally just below an entry door of the cab. A yoke is pivotally joined to a support member of the deck for rotation about a vertical axis below the deck surface. The yoke has a pair of arms pivotally joined to an upper end of a ladder structure for allowing rotation of the ladder about a horizontal axis. A turnbuckle is coupled between the support structure of the deck and one stringer of the ladder while a mechanical actuator is operatively coupled to the ladder's other stringer and to an arm of the yoke to which the other stringer is attached. Operation of the mechanical actuator moves the ladder reciprocally between a use position and stowed position where the stowed position is parallel to and immediately below the deck.
Abstract:
A water structure accessory, in an embodiment, comprises at least one primary support, an assistance member comprising at least one handle, and a watercraft securing member comprising at least one flexible tie.
Abstract:
A tool for engaging a roof includes a peak engagement member for engaging a first surface of the roof, and an operator climbing member including an elongated central body and a plurality of spaced apart step handles mounted on the central body. The operator climbing member is configured for engaging the second surface of the roof and is operatively connected to the peak engagement member.
Abstract:
A platform unit used with a scaffolding structure includes a worker's platform and a ladder for climbing onto the worker's platform. The platform unit includes a first tipping prevention member adapted to interact with a substantially horizontal longitudinally extending first support member, and a second tipping prevention member adapted to interact from below with a substantially horizontal longitudinally extending second support member. The second support member is vertically spaced apart from the first support member. At least a part of at least one of the first and second tipping prevention members is vertically adjustable for enabling attachment and detachment of the platform unit to the scaffolding structure. At least three rollers support the platform unit, with each of the rollers adapted to rest against either the first support member or the second support member, such that the platform unit is rollingly movable in the longitudinal direction.
Abstract:
A ladder system is provided. The system includes an extendable ladder and a ladder safety device. The extendable ladder includes at least a first section and a second section. The ladder safety device includes a first guide rail secured to the first section, a second guide rail secured to the second section, an a guide rail intersection portion that merges the first guide rail into the second guide rail at a point of intersection. The guide rail intersection portion allows the first guide rail to slide with respect to the second guide rail such that the point of intersection changes as the second section extends or retracts with respect to the first section.
Abstract:
A tool for use in the construction and maintenance of elevators and escalators is provided. The tool includes a plurality of rails arranged in a parallel orientation, a plurality of support members connected to the plurality of rails and a plurality of treads attached to the plurality of support members. The plurality of treads is configured to provide a working surface upon which construction or maintenance personnel can stand, sit or kneel. The plurality of treads is further configured to provide a working surface upon which materials can be placed. The tool is configured to bridge gaps formed within the elevators and escalators and bridge gaps formed in building spaces in and around the elevators and escalators.
Abstract:
A lift-up safety grab post mechanism for rooftop hatchway curbs having a mounting bracket on a hatchway curb and having an elongate opening having a pivot bolt for upward and downward grab post movement. A lift-up grab post has a pivot opening receiving the pivot bolt and having a stop member fixed thereto. The lift-up grab post is rotationally moveable between an upstanding position and a horizontal position relative to the roof hatchway curb. The mounting bracket defines a receiver seat and further defines a stop shoulder adjacent the receiver seat that prevents rotational movement of the grab post until the grab post has been raised from said receiver seat to a position above the stop shoulder.
Abstract:
An access device (1) adapted to provide access between a substrate surface (2) and an elevated surface (3). The access device (1) includes a mounting (4), for securement of said device (1) below an extremity of said elevated surface (3), a first ladder member (5), a first end (9) of which is pivotally attached to an upper end (11) of said mounting (4), a second ladder member (6), a first end (12) of which is pivotally attached to a second end (13) of said first ladder member (5), drive means (7), operatively connected between said mounting (4) and said first ladder member (5), to control the movement of said first ladder member (5) between an access position and a storage position, and, a guide arm (8), operatively connected between a lower end of said mounting (4) and said second ladder member (6), to guide the movement of said second ladder member (6) as said drive means (7) moves said first ladder member (5). User operation of said drive means (7) controls the operation of said access device (1) between an access position and a storage position. In the access position, each of said first (5) and second (6) ladder members are substantially coaligned and extend angularly outwardly and downwardly from said elevated surface (3). In the storage position, each of said first (5) and second (6) ladder means are retracted in a substantially vertically disposed manner adjacent to said mounting (4), said second ladder member (6) being substantially inverted relative to said first ladder member (5).
