摘要: A closing unit system for a blowout preventer (BOP) stack includes a first fluid reservoir, a first power source, a first pump system fluidly coupled to the first fluid reservoir and electrically coupled to the first power source, and a valve manifold fluidly coupled to the first pump system via a closing unit hose assembly and configured to couple to the BOP stack. The closing unit system also includes one or more processors that are configured to receive an input indicative of an instruction to adjust an actuator associated with the BOP stack, and instruct the first power source to provide power to the first pump system to cause the first pump system to pump a fluid from the first fluid reservoir to the valve manifold in response to the input.

摘要: A blowout preventer stack may include a body with a vertical bore and a horizontal bore intersecting the vertical bore. The blowout preventer stack may include a side port extending from the vertical bore to an outer side surface of the body. The blowout preventer stack may also include a pair of rams disposed in the horizontal bore, each ram disposed at opposite ends of the horizontal bore and moveable within the horizontal bore to and from the vertical bore. The blowout preventer stack includes a one-way check valve coupled to the side port of the body. The one-way check valve may allow fluid flow into the blowout preventer stack and block fluid flow from exiting the blowout preventer stack.

摘要: Non-sealing casing shear rams are utilized in a blow out preventer (“BOP”) for shearing or cutting casing, but do not seal. The BOP with non-sealing casing shear rams with V-shaped blades has the shearing capabilities of a larger shear ram BOP while utilizing a smaller sized BOP to reduce the need for additional time, expense, and equipment. The non-sealing casing shear ram BOP may be used for drilling operations and during production without the need for swapping a larger shear ram BOP used for drilling to a smaller shear ram BOP for operations. The V-shape blade and back rake angle of the non-sealing casing shear ram blades produce the shearing force of the larger BOP in a smaller sized BOP.

摘要: A suspension head (11) is provided for connection between a high pressure riser (8) and a subsea wellhead (9), for use in drilling and completion operations in which a jack-up rig (1) is employed and a blowout preventer (7) is installed on the jack-up rather than on the wellhead. The use of the suspension head (11) offers improved safety and convenience, allowing the riser (8) to be isolated from the wellhead (9) in emergencies or for carrying out certain operations which would otherwise require the installation of a temporary plug.

摘要: The invention relates to a blowout preventer stack having at least one blowout preventer, at least one kinetic energy storage device, at least one hydraulic pump, and at least one hydraulic actuator which is disposed outside the kinetic energy storage device and is connected to the hydraulic pump via a hydraulic line and is mechanically connected to the blowout preventer, wherein the kinetic energy storage device is coupled, or couplable, to the hydraulic pump and the hydraulic pump may be driven by the kinetic energy stored in the kinetic energy storage device in such a manner that in case of need the hydraulic pump will pump hydraulic fluid to the hydraulic actuator and thus actuate the blowout preventer.

摘要: Directional control valves with blind shear rings are provided. In one embodiment, a valve includes a piston within an inner chamber of a hollow body having inlet and outlet ports in fluid communication with the inner chamber. The valve includes a shear seal ring positioned in the piston and seated against an interior surface within the hollow body. The shear seal ring includes an interior cavity for allowing fluid communication between the inlet port and the outlet port via the interior cavity depending on the position of the piston. Further, the valve includes a blind ring positioned in the piston. At least a portion of the blind ring is exposed to fluid via the interior cavity of the shear seal ring, and the blind ring prevents flow of fluid from the interior cavity of the shear seal ring through the blind ring. Additional systems, devices, and methods are also disclosed.

摘要: A tool for severing or assisting in the severing of a conduit is described. The tool comprises a housing defining a void, the void arranged, in use, to at least partially encircle a conduit and an at least one void access, the/each void access having an inlet and an outlet, the/each void access inlet being in fluid communication with the housing and the/each void access outlet being in fluid communication with the housing void. The tool further comprises an at least one propellant source located within the housing, an ignition mechanism for igniting the/each propellant source and an at least one modifying material. Upon ignition, the/each propellant source deflagrates, creating an at least one stream of combustion products, the/each stream of combustion products flowing out of the tool through the/each void access in to the void, the/each void access channelling the/each stream of combustion products towards the conduit, the/each stream of combustion products combining with the/each modifying material to sever or assist in severing the conduit.
