    摘要: A downhole tool includes a housing defining an axial bore. The downhole tool also includes a piston positioned at least partially within the housing. The piston is configured to actuate from a first piston position into a second piston position at least partially in response to a pressure differential. The downhole tool also includes a locking mechanism positioned at least partially within the housing. The locking mechanism is configured to actuate from a first locking mechanism position into a second locking mechanism position at least partially in response to the pressure differential while the piston is in the second piston position. The downhole tool also includes a disk positioned at least partially within the housing. The disk prevents fluid flow through the axial bore. The disk is configured to break at least partially in response to the pressure differential while the locking mechanism is in the second locking mechanism position.

    摘要: A packer cup for use on downhole wellbore tools is provided herein. The packer cup has a composite annular body made from elastomer and/or polymer materials capable of accomplishing effective sealing at normal to high operating temperatures and at all pressure ranges in order to provide superior resistance to aggressive fluids, such as sour crude oil or gas, lubricating oil additives and amine corrosion inhibitors. The packer cup has a radial array of concave reinforcing wires that are retained by a metal cylindrical sleeve. In addition, the packer cup may include a support cup that is received about a lower tapered end in order to provide additional structural support to the cup.

A first channel is formed in the body and is arranged to hold hydraulic fluid. A first floating piston is disposed in the first channel, the first floating piston being in fluid communication with the first bore via a passage. A plurality of pistons is arranged to move the activation member relative to the body to deform an elastomeric packer element outwardly relative to the body.

    摘要: A zonal isolation device (10; 20; 30; 300; 400; 500; 600) in the form of an active external casing packer is provided which includes a tubular section such as a casing or liner (1; 21; 31; 171; 203) arranged to be run into and secured within a larger diameter generally cylindrical structure such as an open borehole (163; 213). At least one sleeve member (3; 23; 33; 43; 173) is positioned on the exterior of the casing or liner and is sealed thereto and at least two deformable band members (201; 401, 403; 501) are provided around and are bonded to the outer circumference of the sleeve member. The sleeve member and the at least two deformable band members is/are expanded into place against the inner circumference of the open borehole by increasing the pressure within the sleeve member. The method detailed herein also provides zonal isolation by use of a pair of spaced apart members during a frac operation where frac fluid is supplied to a zone (in between the pair of sleeve members) requiring to be frac'd, where the frac pressure acts not only on the outside of the zonal isolation device but also on the interior of the sleeve member to enhance the seal provided thereby.

    摘要: A depressurization tool is described for use downhole in depressurizing an isolated zone. A decompression chamber containing a compressible fluid volume is described. The opening of the chamber is sealed with a closure that is configured to open upon application of a pressure differential across the opening. When used downhole within an isolated and nonpermeable wellbore zone, excessive ambient pressure will cause the closure to open and allow the chamber to fill with fluid at increased pressure, depressurizing the wellbore zone. The tool is useful in wellbore completion systems that include sliding sleeves.

    摘要: The present invention generally relates to a packer for creating a seal in an annular area. In one aspect, a packer cup for use in a wellbore is provided. The packer cup includes a base and a first seal segment having a first end and a second end. The first end of the first seal segment is attached to the base. The packer cup further includes a second seal segment that is spaced apart from the base. The second seal segment is attached to the second end of the first seal segment, wherein each seal segment is configured to move from a retracted shape to an expanded shape upon activation of the respective seal segment. In another aspect, a method for creating a seal between a tubular and a wellbore is provided. In a further aspect, a packer is provided.
