摘要: A downhole separation system for use upstream of any tool through which a media flows. The separation system filters at least a portion of any solids from the media flowing through a filter flow path. The separation system flushes at least a portion of the filtered solids through a flush flow path, through a flush outlet on an outer surface of a housing, and into a space surrounding the housing. A screen and an activation mechanism are disposed within a housing inner bore. The filter flow path extends through a plurality of openings in the screen. The activation mechanism is configured to move between a default position in which it directs fluid through the filter flow path and an activated position in which it directs fluid through the flush flow path. Optionally, a spring within the housing inner bore is configured to bias the activation mechanism toward the default position.

摘要: A water separation system includes a production control valve fluidly connected to a production tubing and positioned at an uphole end of the production tubing at a well head of a well site, a production fluid pathway between the production control valve and a water separator, an injection control valve fluidly connected to an injection tubing and positioned at an uphole end of the injection tubing at the well head, and an injection fluid pathway between the injection control valve and the water separator. The water separator is positioned at the well site and is fluidly connected to the production fluid pathway and the injection fluid pathway. The water separator separates water from the production fluid and directs the separated water to the injection fluid pathway. An output fluid pathway fluidly connects to the water separator to direct the production fluid out of the water separator.

摘要: A subsea fluid processing system is provided containing a liquid reservoir, an inlet tank, a pump, an outlet system, and a fluid re-circulation loop. The liquid reservoir circulates a primer liquid stream to the inlet tank via the fluid re-circulation loop. The inlet tank further receives a first production fluid stream and mixes it with the primer liquid stream to produce thereby a second production fluid stream having a reduced gas volume fraction (GVF) relative to the first production fluid stream. The pump receives the second production fluid stream from the inlet tank and increases its pressure. Further, the outlet system containing the liquid reservoir receives the second production fluid stream from the pump and separates at least a portion of the primer liquid stream from a principal production stream. The primer liquid includes at least one exogenous liquid not derived from the first production fluid stream.

摘要: A well completion and related method are provided for formations susceptible to simultaneous production of oil and water. In one embodiment, two closely spaced, preferably horizontal wellbores are drilled from a single well into the reservoir. The reservoir rock surrounding one leg (typically the upper leg) is chemically treated to make it hydrophobic, whereas the reservoir rock surrounding the other leg is chemically treated to make it hydrophilic. Separate production tubing and a dual completion is installed in order to enable independent flow from each leg. Drawdown pressures in both legs are controlled to be sufficiently close to each other such that only oil flows into one leg and only water into the other. The water produced is re-injected downhole or brought to the surface.

摘要: A method and system for treating a hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir with a DOWS system includes forming a first and a second DOWS system wells that fluidly communicate with both a first and second hydrocarbon-bearing formation. The first well has an upflowing DOWS unit and the second well has a downflowing DOWS unit. The DOWS units separate production fluid into a water-rich fluid and a hydrocarbon-rich fluid that passes to the surface. Both wells have an injection zone and a production zone. The DOWS system is operated such that water-rich fluid from the first DOWS well is introduced into the first hydrocarbon-bearing formation, water-rich fluid from the second DOWS well is introduced into the second hydrocarbon-bearing formation, production fluid from the second hydrocarbon-bearing formation is introduced into the first DOWS well, and production fluid from the first hydrocarbon-bearing formation is introduced into the second DOWS well.
