摘要: A portable jig and fixture having at least one base plate, a column assembly removably coupled to the at least one base plate, a slide assembly removably coupled to the column assembly, a power feed head removably coupled to the slide assembly, and a spindle unit removably coupled with the slide assembly having a motor removably engaged it. At least one cutter assembly is removably engaged with the spindle unit and at least one drill jig is also removably engaged with the spindle unit. Also, a turbomachine having complementary structure on the compressor discharge casing can engage with the at least one base plate alignment mounting structure on the portable jig and fixture.

摘要: According to an aspect, a bowed rotor sensor system for a gas turbine engine is provided. The bowed rotor sensor system includes a bowed rotor sensor operable to transmit a sensing field in an observation region and receive a signal indicative of a gap between an air seal and a blade tip within the gas turbine engine. The bowed rotor sensor system also includes a controller operable to monitor a plurality of gap data from the bowed rotor sensor indicative of the gap between the air seal and the blade tip of a plurality of blades passing through the observation region and determine a bowed rotor status of the gas turbine engine based on the gap data.

摘要: There is described a shaft shear event detection method. The method comprises storing in memory a shaft oscillation signature determined as a function of known characteristics of the shaft and associated with a shaft shear event; monitoring a rotational speed of the shaft; detecting from the rotational speed an oscillation wave superimposed on the rotational speed, the oscillation wave having a wave modulation frequency and a wave modulation amplitude; comparing the oscillation signature to the oscillation wave; and detecting the shaft shear event when the oscillation wave corresponds to the oscillation signature.

摘要: A method for purging fuel from a fuel system of a gas turbine engine on shutdown of the engine comprises, in one aspect, terminating a fuel supply to the fuel system and using the residual compressed air to create a reversed pressure differential in the fuel system relative to a forward pressure differential of the fuel system used to maintain fuel supply for engine operation, and under the reversed pressure differential substantially purging the fuel remaining in the system therefrom to a fuel source.

摘要: A method of detecting shaft break in a gas turbine engine having a shaft system. The shaft system including a shaft that couples a compressor and a turbine. First construct a frequency model of the shaft system. Then determine a notch frequency and a first torsional frequency for the shaft system from the model. Then in real time measure a rotational speed of the shaft; detect the presence or absence of a feature at at least one of the notch frequency and the first torsional frequency in the measured speed; and generate a shaft break signal in response to the absence of at least one of the features.
