    Abstract: An exhaust device includes a casing including an inlet configured to receive an exhaust gas, an outlet configured to discharge the exhaust gas, and a chamber disposed therein between the inlet and the outlet. The casing defines a longitudinal axis along its length. The exhaust device further includes an exhaust conduit at least partially received within the chamber of the casing along the longitudinal axis. The exhaust conduit includes an inner surface, an opposing outer surface, a plurality of perforations extending through the exhaust conduit from the inner surface to the outer surface, and at least one protrusion extending outwardly from the outer surface. The exhaust device further includes an absorptive material disposed on the outer surface of the exhaust conduit. The at least one protrusion of the exhaust conduit engages with the absorptive material in order to form an interference fit between the absorptive material and the exhaust conduit.

The catalyst body is retained in the housing via a force-closed press fit with the intermediate arrangement of the or each bearing mat such that, when seen in the throughflow direction of the catalyst body, the press fit between the housing and the catalyst body is formed exclusively at defined axial positions, the housing having groove-like depressions at the defined axial positions for reducing in some sections the inner cross-section of the housing, and the press fit between the housing and the catalyst body being formed exclusively in the region of the groove-like depressions.

    Abstract: An exhaust manifold for a combustion engine of a motor vehicle includes a two-shell construction comprised of an outer system and an inner system. A flange is positioned at a side proximal to a cylinder head of the combustion engine for installation to the combustion engine, and an insulation sleeve connects the inner system with the flange and the outer system. The insulation sleeve is sized to extend through an opening of the flange and to project beyond the flange into the cylinder head of the combustion engine.

    Abstract: An exhaust system includes an exhaust pipe. The exhaust pipe includes an outer pipe and an inner pipe. A first through-hole and a second through-hole are provided in a peripheral surface of the outer pipe and a peripheral surface of the inner pipe, respectively, to receive an exhaust gas detector. Third through-holes are provided in the peripheral surface of the outer pipe, at a different position than that of the first through-hole. Since the third through-holes are provided in the outer pipe, a liquid can be drained promptly from a space between the outer pipe and inner pipe. Exhaust gas can be prevented from being discharged to the atmosphere by sealing the third through-holes.
