摘要: The invention relates to a device for cooling fuel for an internal combustion engine, with a heat pipe, which includes an evaporation zone and a condensation zone. To decrease the amount of gaseous hydrocarbons conducted into an activated carbon filter of a tank ventilation device of a tank of the internal combustion engine, and thereby avoid undesired bleed-emission or an enlargement of the activated carbon filer, it is proposed according to the invention, that the evaporation zone of the heat pipe is in thermal contact with fuel vapors, to condense part of the fuel vapors before the hydrocarbons contained therein can enter the activated carbon filter.

摘要: An internal combustion engine is provided with a vapor heat transfer capsule mounted between the inlet and exhaust manifolds, below the carburetor, to transfer exhaust heat to the intake manifold air-fuel mixture. The heat transfer capsule includes boiler and condenser sections separated by a regulator plate that includes a vapor flow directing nozzle and a plurality of capillary passages for the return of liquid condensate. The regulator plate is insulated from the exhaust manifold, but is in heat exchange relation with the intake manifold to provide a path for the transfer of excess heat out of the condenser section.

摘要: A fuel-air mixture heating device is described which is interposed between a carburetor and an intake manifold so that completely vaporized fuel may be injected into the cylinders of the engine without adversely affecting the charging efficiency. The fuel-air mixture flowing from the carburetor to the intake manifold is forced to pass through a heating means where even low-volatile components of the fuel may be heated and completely vaporized, then through a flow controlling means for restricting the flow of the low-volatile components of the fuel close to the axis of the intake manifold while forcing the high-volatile components to flow off the axis, and finally through cooling means for cooling the fuel-air mixture before it is injected into the cylinder.

摘要: A preheating device for the inlet manifold of an internal combustion engine, comprising at least one probe projecting into the exhaust manifold of the engine connected via a heat-conductive metallic rod or pipe to a second probe projecting into the inlet manifold, for transferring heat from the exhaust manifold to the fuel-air charge flowing through the inlet manifold. The probe disposed in the inlet manifold may be provided with an electrical heating element such as to preheat the interior of the inlet manifold prior to starting the engine, and providing heat to the fuel-air charge during cold starts of the engine.

摘要: Disclosed is a device for supplying fuel from the fuel tank to the carburetor in an internal combustion engine, which device includes a fuel pump adapted for forcibly supplying the necessary amount of fuel into the carburetor and for recirculating an extra amount of fuel to the fuel tank. A heat pipe is, on one end thereof, arranged to touch the fuel in the carburetor and, on the other end thereof, to touch the recirculated fuel. The heat pipe operates to remove the heat of the hot fuel in the carburetor and to transfer the heat to the recirculated cool fuel. Thus the evaporation of the fuel in the carburetor can be effectively prevented.
