    摘要: The drive system for wind turbine with contra-rotating generator includes various embodiments of belt drive pulley systems for a direct drive contra-rotating wind generator. The generator has a magnetic rotor and an armature mounted on a shaft configured to rotate in the opposite direction from the magnetic rotor. In some embodiments, a belt extends across two pairs of coaxially mounted idler pulleys between a pulley on the magnetic rotor shaft and a pulley on the armature shaft. In other embodiments, the pulleys on the magnetic rotor and armature shafts are double sheave pulleys, and a first belt extends across one or two coaxial pair(s) of idler pulleys between an inner and outer sheave, and a second belt extends across one or two coaxial pair(s) of idler pulleys between an inner and outer sheave. Either the magnetic rotor or the armature shaft or both are coupled to a wind turbine rotor.

    摘要: Multiple horizontal axis type rotors are coaxially attached along the upper section of an elongate torque transmitting tower/driveshaft. The tower/driveshaft projects upward from a cantilevered bearing means, and is bent downwind, until the rotors become sufficiently aligned with the wind to rotate the entire tower/driveshaft. Power is drawn from the shaft at the base. Surface mount, subsurface mount, and marine installations, including a sailboat, are disclosed. Blade-to-blade lashing, and vertical axis rotor blades may also be included. Vertical and horizontal axis type rotor blades may be interconnected along the length of the tower/driveshaft to form a structural lattice, and the central shaft may even be eliminated. Aerodynamic lifting bodies or tails, buoyant lifting bodies, buoyant rotor blades, and methods of influencing the tilt of the rotors, can help elevate the structure. This wind turbine can have as few as one single moving part.

    摘要: The invention relates to a wind-powered generator comprising blades at dihedral angles (PSP), characterised by an aerodynamic, semi-flat blade having, on one if its sides, a bent section measuring approximately a quarter of the total width of the blade and forming a dihedral angle of less than 30°, the interior space of which captures the kinetic power of the wind impacting on the blade, thereby generating a powerful rotary movement in that direction. The blades form a diametrical set of two blades generating a strong and effective rotary movement at a 90° angle to the linear movement of the wind. The invention can be used to create: a generator comprising one single set of two blades; a generator comprising two sets of blades moving in one direction and generating an aggregate output; and/or a generator comprising two sets of blades rotating in opposite directions that generate twice the output of a set of blades rotating in one direction, with one single fixed and mobile structure, one single generator and one single wind mass.

    摘要: A Wind Power system employing a three-tube tower, double, counter-rotating blades and a means to carry the wind energy power to a remotely located generator. The system employs a method to transmit the power from a horizontal vector to a vertical vector by means of a 90° magnetic translating method which delivers the power with no power loss.The system, by the physical placement of the generator, transformer, switches and controls, provide a great reduction in tower support weight and further provides for a cost efficient system. To further the overall efficiency of the system, special designs of the leading edge of the blades are fitted with tubercles which allow the blades to be pitched at greater angles, thereby increasing the power which can be gathered.This system, due to the teachings of this invention, can be constructed, installed and maintained at a substantially lower cost than that of a wind system currently being employed in the industry.

    摘要: A housing for a wind turbine includes a plurality of spine members with a central rib and opposed channels. Frame members are attached to adjacent spine members. The housing includes divergent frame members having a pair of longitudinal members which are inserted into channels of a spine member. The housing includes central support members, each central support member is attached to a divergent frame member. Each of the central support members is attached near the center of one of the divergent frame members. The housing also includes outer plates, each outer plate attached to and between adjacent spine members. Channels face in the opposite direction from adjacent channels on the spines. An inner shroud is attached to the spine members. Air passages are created underneath the arcuate outer plates. A cowling is attached to the end plates.

    摘要: One embodiment of an apparatus for wheel slipstream energy recovery in wheeled vehicles comprising a plurality of wheel spokes (21) of a wheel attached to a rotatable motoring shaft (22) which in turn is connected to a motor (26) and a generating propeller (23) attached to a rotatable generating shaft (24) which in turn is connected to a generator (25). Operation of the motor (26) results in the motoring propeller (21) to rotate and generate an accelerating slipstream towards the generating propeller (23) which results in the generator (25) rotating to convert recovered rotational energy into other forms of useable energy. The motor (26) may be an electric motor or an internal combustion engine. The generator (25) output is available for charging batteries or powering electrical loads in either electric or conventional vehicles. Both motor (26) and generator (25) are motoring and generating simultaneously.
