Abstract: Disclosed is a wind turbine blade and a method for its manufacture. A lower shell part and an upper shell part are provided, each shell part having a leading edge end and a trailing edge end. A flatback profile component and web for connecting an inner surface of the lower side shell part with an inner surface of the upper side shell part are connected. The assembly which comprises the flatback profile component and the at least one web are placed on the lower shell part and the upper shell part is mounted. The wind turbine blade comprises a flatback profile component being arranged at the trailing edge, wherein the flatback profile component is coupled by at least one distance holder with at least one web, wherein the web couples the interior surface of the upwind side shell part with the interior surface of the downwind side shell part.

Abstract: Provided is a trailing edge assembly of a wind turbine rotor blade, which includes a mounting portion; a flap portion flexibly connected to the mounting portion so that a flap angle subtended between the mounting portion and the flap portion can be altered; a volume adjustable chamber arranged between the mounting portion and the flap portion and realised to alter its volume between a minimum volume associated with a minimum flap angle and a maximum volume associated with a maximum flap angle; and at least one tube to face into an airflow passing over the airfoil region of the rotor blade, and an inner orifice arranged to face into the interior of the volume adjustable chamber such that an airflow between the outer orifice and the inner orifice alters the volume of the volume adjustable chamber. Embodiments of the invention further describe a wind turbine rotor blade.

Abstract: A blade for a wind turbine can include an elongated and curved sheet having a root, a tip positioned opposite the root, a leading edge spanning between the root and the tip along a length of the blade, and a trailing edge spanning between the root and the tip opposite the leading edge. The blade can include a generally concave surface formed by curvature of the blade about a longitudinal axis. The blade can further include one or more air dams, which can be in the form of strip elements oriented transverse to the longitudinal axis and extending away from the concave surface. The air dams improve torque and efficiency of the blade. In some embodiments, an edge of the root can include a plurality of curved projections distributed thereon. A wind turbine system can include a generator and a wind turbine having a mounting element to support turbine blades.

Abstract: A unique wind turbine blade features a drag element having a concave surface for impingement of airflow thereagainst to create a drag force, and an airfoil having a rounded edge and an opposing sharper edge. The sharp edge points toward the drag element from a side thereof to which the concave surface faces, and the rounded edge points away from the drag element on the same side thereof as the sharp edge such that the sharp edge leads the rounded edge under movement of the drag element by the drag force. A unique wind turbine features an auxiliary support bearing disposed at a spaced axial distance from the rotor, and an auxiliary blade support connection spanning from the auxiliary bearing to the blade at a distance spaced axially from where a rotor blade support connects to said blade.
