Abstract: A double-action piston pump of an application system for applying a fluid medium to a substrate, wherein the piston pump has a piston which is movable between a first reversal point and a second reversal point for delivering the fluid medium, wherein on reaching the first reversal point and the second reversal point, the movement direction of the piston is reversed, wherein during an output period, the fluid medium is output by means of an output device, and during an interruption period, an output of the fluid medium by means of the output device is interrupted, wherein during the interruption period, the movement direction of the piston is reversed, wherein on reversal of the movement direction during the interruption period, the piston is situated at an intermediate position between the first reversal point and the second reversal point.

Abstract: A pressure booster includes a pressure boosting unit and a bypass unit. The pressure boosting unit includes an input port connected to the side of a fluid supply source and an output port connected to the side of a tank. The pressure boosting unit boosts the pressure of a pressurized fluid supplied to the input port and outputs the pressure-boosted pressurized fluid from the output port. The bypass unit includes a bypass flow path having one end connected to the fluid supply source side and the other end connected to the output port side. The bypass flow path is provided with a bypass check valve configured to block the flow of the pressurized fluid from the output port side to the fluid supply source side.

Abstract: A gas-driven air compressor system and a method for using it. No electricity, lubrication or cooling water is required. A high pressure gas used to drive the compressor may be recovered at a pressure high enough to be retain its economic value. In one preferred embodiment, the air compressor includes a gas-driven drive cylinder and an air-driven boost cylinder, interconnected by reciprocating drive and boost pistons. The drive piston supplies force to power the boost piston, which pulls in atmospheric air and discharges it at a higher pressure for use by pneumatically-operated controls and equipment. A four-way valve operating on differential gas pressure may be used to automatically actuate the reciprocating piston. Using the present invention, fugitive gas emissions, such as normally occur when using a separator to remove oil and water from a wellhead gas stream, may be avoided.

Abstract: A multi-stage expansible chamber pump system includes a HP pump unit, and first and second LP pump units. The LP units each include a LP air chamber and a pumped fluid chamber, separated by a piston. The HP unit includes left and right HP air chambers separated by a piston. Pistons are coaxial on a common piston rod for reciprocating movement in unison. A direction control DC valve includes a valve spool movable between first and second positions. The DC valve receives high pressure shop air as Control air and Process air. Control air moves the DC valve spool alternately to first and second positions. The DC valve, as determined by the position of the spool, directs Process air alternately to one side, then the other, of the HP unit, whereby the pistons reciprocate in unison to pump fluid through the fluid chambers.

Abstract: The subject system provides a use of clean and environmentally friendly steam technology in place of a compression ignition system. The system used a free piston pump having a double acting pump. A first valve and a second valve are actuated by steam or hydraulically driven providing a fast response. And, each of the first valve and the second valve can be adapted to operate as a 3-way valve having an open position a closed position and an exhaust position. The design allows an improvement over existing compression ignition systems and can utilize a super low emission external combustion system as a power source which operates at a greater efficiency and decreases fuel consumption via regeneration. The present system can expand the steam until the quality drops below 1 into the region of saturated vapor. This adds to the potential efficiency by extracting more energy from the steam in the system. The system converts steam power to hydraulic power. And, to insure maximum efficiency saturated steam and water are uniquely removed from the steam power converting source.

Abstract: A pneumatically operated hydraulic pump includes a cylinder housing accommodating a main piston to subdivide the housing interior in two working chambers. The main piston is connected to a hydraulic piston for joint reciprocation so that the hydraulic piston can carry out a suction stroke when the main piston moves to one end position and a pressure stroke when the main piston moves to the other end position. Arranged laterally to the cylinder housing is a control mechanism for regulating a flow of working fluid alternately to the working chambers. The control mechanism includes a plastic valve casing for accommodating a control piston having opposite end faces of different size to define different effective areas and thereby realize reciprocation of the control piston by the working fluid. A slide shoe is guided in the valve casing for conjoint movement with the control piston. A displacement of the main piston into the two end positions actuates respective pilot valves which regulate the reciprocation of the control piston and the slide shoe to thereby move the main piston between the end positions which discharging working fluid via the deflection zone in the slide shoe to the atmosphere.
