    摘要: Apparatus for unloading a scroll compressor to modulate its capacity by separately controlling fluid flow into first and second inlets. The first and second inlets are disposed diametrically opposite each other in a fixed scroll plate, and are enclosed by a perimeter wrap which extends from the radially outer end of the fixed spiral shaped wrap element. A compliant sealing member is provided between the inner surface of the perimeter wrap and the outer flank surface of the orbiting scroll wrap to interrupt fluid flow between the two inlets through this area. Valves connected to the first and second inlets selectively control the flow of suction fluid into fluid pockets being formed between the radially outer ends of the orbiting and fixed wrap elements to unload the compressor over an extended range of its rated output capacity.

    摘要: A multiple-turn scroll pump comprises a pumping unit on each lateral side of a base plate of an oscillatable scroll piston driven by an eccentric drive. Each pumping unit includes a spirally shaped groove in a scroll housing and a spirally shaped displacement blade forming part of the scroll piston. The groove in one of the pumping units extends from the peripheral part of the scroll housing through at least one turn of a spiral and terminates at the intermediate part of the housing. The groove in the other pumping unit also begins close to the peripheral part of the scroll housing but extends through a number of spiral turns greater than that of the groove in the first pumping unit. Passages are provided in the scroll piston to communicate grooves in both units in such a manner that the fluid drawn into the first pumping unit is compressed mainly in the second pumping unit and is discharged solely therefrom. Mechanism for constraining the movement of the oscillating piston with respect to the scroll housing is conveniently housed within the confinement of the groove in the first pumping unit to reduce the overall radial dimension of the pump.

    摘要: A positive fluid displacement apparatus employing scroll members having interfitting spiroidal wraps angularly and radially offset such that as the spiral centers experience an orbiting motion, they define one or more moving fluid pockets of variable volume. The zones of lowest and highest pressures are connected to fluid ports. Radial sealing is accomplished with minimum wear by using a driving mechanism which provides a centripetal radial force adapted to oppose a fraction of the centrifugal force acting on the orbiting scroll member. The line contact sealing force between the wraps of the scroll members constitutes the sole radial constraining force. Coupling means which are separate from the driving means, and hence from the radial constraining means, are provided to maintain the desired angular relationship between scroll members. Axial sealing is attained by withdrawing a portion of fluid from the zone of highest pressure and using this high-pressure fluid to generate axial sealing forces. The apparatus may serve as a compressor, expander or pump.
