    摘要: A kit for modifying an OE vehicle transmission includes a replacement forward piston housing, forward clutch hub and a forward clutch and a replacement direct piston housing, direct clutch hub and a direct clutch. A drum extends between and operably connects the replacement forward piston housing and direct piston housing. The kit includes a replacement sprag shaft. The forward clutch hub and forward clutch and the direct clutch hub and direct clutch are positioned between the forward piston housing and the direct piston housing. At least a portion of the forward clutch and at least a portion of the direct clutch are operably mounted to the drum. The forward piston housing and direct piston housing do not counter rotate relative to one another. A power flow module for an OE vehicle automatic transmission is disclosed.

    摘要: A vacuum cleaner clutch assembly having an input driven by a motor, an output to drive an agitator, a starter clutch and a drive clutch. The starter clutch moves between an engaged position in which it receives a first drive torque from the input, and a disengaged position in which it receives substantially no torque directly from the input. The drive clutch is moveable between an engaged position in which it receives a second drive torque from the input, and a disengaged position in which it receives substantially no torque directly from the input. When engaged, the starter clutch is coupled to the drive clutch to transmit the first drive torque to the drive clutch to move the drive clutch into the engaged drive clutch position. When engaged, the drive clutch is coupled to the clutch assembly output to transmit the second drive torque to the output.

    摘要: A compressor includes a housing, a compression mechanism, an input shaft rotatable on an axis thereof, an output shaft for driving the compression mechanism, a transmission for transmitting torque from the input shaft to the output shaft and also changing the rotating speed of the input shaft and a control device for controlling the operation of the transmission. The transmission includes a plurality of planetary rollers, a carrier rotatably supporting the respective planetary rollers and being integrally rotatable with the input shaft, a sun roller engaged with the respective planetary rollers and integrally rotatable with the output shaft and a ring roller engaged with the respective planetary rollers. The ring roller can be fixed to the housing or rotatable relative to the housing. The control device includes a one-way clutch allowing the ring roller to rotate only one direction relative to the carrier and a clutch fixing the ring roller to the housing or allowing the ring roller to rotate relative to the housing. The input shaft, the carrier, the respective planetary rollers and the sun roller cooperate to form an assembly that can move as a unit relative to the housing in the direction that is parallel to the axis.

    摘要: A preferred embodiment compound ball ramp clutch assembly for motor vehicle drive line components includes a force amplifying assembly having two ball ramp operators arranged in tandem. The clutch assembly includes a first ball ramp operator having opposed cam plates with load transferring balls, an electromagnetic coil, a rotor and an armature. When energized, the coil creates drag which causes separation of the plates of the first ball ramp operator which compresses a primary (pilot) clutch pack disposed in mechanical parallel with the cam plates and load transferring balls of a second ball ramp operator. A speed difference and drag across the second ball ramp operator compresses a secondary (main) clutch pack. Significantly increased torque carrying capacity is exhibited by such a compound or a tandem ball ramp clutch assembly.

    摘要: A clutch for an automotive vehicle has a driving member which is connected to the crankshaft of the vehicle engine, and a driven member which is keyed, by means of a spline, to the input shaft of the vehicle transmission, there being a spring at the end of the shaft for urging the second member toward the transmission. The first member includes a mounting ring and an end ring, as well as posts extended between the two rings. The end ring contains cutouts arranged in two rows around the shaft and a groove separating the rows. The second member has a hub against which the spring bears and a larger transfer ring at one end of the hub. The transfer ring in turn has lugs arranged in two rows around its periphery, and these lugs are configured to slide into the cutouts in the end ring of the driving member under the force exerted by the spring. Located around the hub of the driven member is a stack of first and second clutch plates arranged alternately between the mounting ring of the driving member and the transfer ring of the second member. The first clutch plates are keyed to the posts of the first member, whereas the second clutch plate is keyed to a spline on the hub of the driven member. The clutch has two engaged conditions and a single disengaged condition. In the first engaged position the lugs are in the cutouts; in the second engaged position the plates are compressed tightly together; and in the disengaged position the lugs are withdrawn from the cutouts and the plates slip with respect to each other.

The mechanism comprises a viscous coupling (22) including a housing (64) having two sidewalls (24a, 68) defining a chamber (70) containing a viscous liquid, and a clutch member (72) disposed in the chamber for viscous clutching coaction with the housing. One of the sidewalls (24a) is defined by an end wall of the torque converter housing. The housing and clutch member are interconnected by a spring assembly (20) including flat torsion springs (61, 62) which transmit steady-state driveline torque and isolate driveline torsionals. The inner surfaces (24b, 68a) of the housing each include two circumferentially spaced clutching surfaces separated by the clutch member. The clutch member has oppositely facing surfaces (72b, 72c) each which include two flat circumferentially spaced clutching surfaces. When the clutching surfaces of the housing are disposed opposite the clutching surfaces of the clutch member, the clutching coaction therebetween is a maximum. When the clutching surfaces of the housing are disposed opposite the spaces between the clutching surfaces of the clutch member, the clutching coaction is a minimum.
