    摘要: A method for attenuating vibration in a driveline having a shaft assembly that transmits torque between first and second driveline components. The shaft assembly can have a hollow shaft member and at least one liner. The liner has a mass and a stiffness that are tuned such that the liner is a tuned resistive absorber for attenuating shell mode vibrations as well as at least one of a tuned reactive absorber for attenuating bending mode vibrations and a tuned reactive absorber for attenuating torsion mode vibrations. The tuned liner is inserted into the shaft member.

    摘要: A torsion damping center and a clutch plate assembly incorporating the torsion damping center are disclosed. The torsion damping center comprises a first hub which is the actual hub of the clutch plate assembly and which is coaxial to a second hub and mounted for relative angular displacement within predetermined limits, and a damper ring operatively interposed between the hubs for a range of relative angular displacements. The damper ring comprises a pair of identical annular plates of sheet metal construction and a pad of elastic material sandwiched between the plates and bonded thereto. The plates have at least one tooth at their inner periphery for connection for rotation with the first and second hubs respectively. The damper ring constitutes a first damping stage; the second damping stage comprising a series of circumferentially disposed coil springs interposed between the second hub and a friction disc carried on an annular subassembly.

    摘要: A torsional vibration damper of the type having a hub which carries an outer inertia ring coupled thereto by an elastomer. Supplemental damping is added to the system via the use of dry friction. A broad frequency range of effectiveness is provided by designed non-linearity of the device made possible by the dry friction. A greater broadening of the frequency range of effectiveness is made possible by utilizing a plurality of inertia masses carried by the hub, all mounted on the same elastomer. Elastomeric compression is utilized to spring-load the friction surfaces, providing a series-parallel, elastomer viscous-dry friction damping medium. In multiple mass application the concept of mass interaction is utilized to further determine the dynamic performance of the damper.

    摘要: A damped propshaft assembly with a hollow shaft and a tuned damper, which is received in the hollow shaft and includes a liner and a damping member. The liner's mass and stiffness are tuned to attenuate one or more of a bending mode vibration and a torsion mode vibration that occurs at a first predetermined frequency. The liner is not configured to substantially damp shell mode vibration that occurs at a frequency that is not equal to the first predetermined frequency. The damping member is coupled to the liner and is configured to primarily attenuate shell mode vibration in the hollow shaft at one or more desired frequencies. The tuned damper attenuates the at least one of the bending moment vibration and the torsion mode vibration at the first predetermined frequency and also attenuates shell mode vibration. A method for forming a damped propshaft assembly is also provided.
