A composition for visualizing stress or crack distributions includes a paintable medium and a mechanoluminescence material dispersed therein.

    摘要: The present invention aims to provide a mechanoluminescent material which is excellent in mechanoluminescent properties and can achieve a mechanoluminescence intensity sufficiently suited to practical use, a raw material composition for producing the mechanoluminescent material, and a method for producing a mechanoluminescent material. The mechanoluminescent material of the present invention includes strontium aluminate as a base material, a Eu ion, and at least one ion selected from the group consisting of Nd, Dy, and Ho. An amount of the Eu ion contained in the mechanoluminescent material is 0.0001 to 0.1 mol per mole of the strontium aluminate. An amount of the at least one ion selected from the group consisting of Nd, Dy, and Ho contained in the mechanoluminescent material is, as the sum of amounts of the three ions Nd, Dy, and Ho, 0.0001 to 0.01 mol per mole of the strontium aluminate. The present invention also provides a raw material composition for a mechanoluminescent material used for synthesizing the mechanoluminescent material, a mechanoluminescent coating composition and a resin composition each containing the mechanoluminescent material, and applied articles such as mechanoluminescent articles formed from the resin composition.

    摘要: One embodiment of the present invention provides (i) a luminant having a unique crystal structure so as to exhibit high luminosity and (ii) a manufacturing method thereof. Further, the present invention discloses (I) a luminant which exhibits ultraviolet luminescence and (II) a manufacturing method thereof. The inventors developed a stress-stimulated luminescent material which exhibits high luminosity by using a compound having a structure obtained by inserting alkali metal ions and alkali earth metal ions into a base material structure constituted of polyhedral-structure molecules and partially substituting the alkali metal ions and alkali earth metal ions by rare earth metal ions, transition metal ions, group-III metal ions, or group-IV metal ions. Further, the inventors developed a stress-stimulated luminescent material which exhibits high-luminosity stress-stimulated ultraviolet luminescence by adding specific metal ions such as Ce as a luminescent center to the aforementioned stress-stimulated luminescent material.

    摘要: An inflatable sports ball is provided. The sports ball includes an interior bladder and a cover disposed about the interior bladder. The cover may include an outer substrate and an intermediate structure. The cover may further include an outer substrate surface, defined by the outer substrate, and a feature surface radially spaced apart from the outer substrate surface. Together the outer substrate surface and the feature surface cooperate to define an exterior surface of the cover. A mechanoluminescent material may be embedded in a portion of the cover. The mechanoluminescent material may be disposed at only one of the outer substrate surface and the feature surface, such that it is positioned to form a predetermined design on the cover. The mechanoluminescent material emits visible light in response to an externally-applied stress, such that the predetermined design illuminates when an external stress or mechanical stimulus is exerted upon the cover.
