Abstract: An aircraft beacon light comprises an annular light source support having a plurality of light passing portions; a plurality of light sources, arranged on the annular light source support for a radially outwards emission of light flashes; a light detector for sensing a light output level of at least a subset of the plurality of light sources; and at least one optical element for shaping a beacon light output from light emitted by the plurality of light sources, the at least one optical element having at least one light guiding portion for capturing stray light from at least said subset of the plurality of light sources and for guiding said stray light through the plurality of light passing portions and towards the light detector.

Abstract: A fluid removal assembly for an aircraft light is provided. The fluid removal assembly includes a condensate removal valve including a housing; a set of helical compression springs; and a stem disposed within the housing. The stem is configured to translate in a first direction responsive to the aircraft being pressurized and a first force, from the pressurization, forcing the stem to translate in the first direction; and translate in a second direction opposite the first direction responsive to the aircraft being depressurized and a second force from the set of helical compression springs forcing the stem to translate in the second direction. The condensate removal valve is configured to: responsive to an aircraft being depressurized, drain a fluid from one or more components of the aircraft light, the aircraft light being installed in the aircraft; and responsive to the aircraft being pressurized, maintain a pressure within the aircraft.

Abstract: An aircraft light is provided which can illuminate an illuminated area with appropriate levels of illuminance. An aircraft light is configured, including: at least one or more light-emitting elements as light sources; and an inner lens configured to project light emitted from the light-emitting elements onto a desired area, in which the inner lens has a lens that splits light of a single light-emitting element in different directions. According to this aspect, both a far illumination area and a near illumination area can be illuminated, and the luminous intensity can also be adjusted by adjusting the amount of a beam to be split; therefore, an illuminated area can be illuminated with appropriate levels of illuminance.

Abstract: An aircraft light comprises a housing, at least one light source to be cooled, the at least one light source being arranged in the housing, a heat sink element thermally coupled to the at least one light source and defining a cooling surface exposable to a cooling airstream for the cooling airstream to flow along the cooling surface in a flow direction. The cooling surface extends between upstream and downstream end portions spaced apart in the flow direction and means for generating a pressure difference between the upstream and downstream end portions of the cooling surface. Due to the pressure difference, a cooling airstream flowing along the cooling surface is created.
