    摘要: A furnace system for the automatic, continuous and efficient ignition and combustion of pelletized or similar fuel. An electric-arc ignition means responsive to a thermostat is combined with a non-conductive refractory fire pot with air passageways on the bottom surface of the fire pot, two electrodes configured relative to said fire pot and a system control means, for controlling and sequencing the operation of the system elements. A system control means is also disclosed which de-energizes the fuel feed device if the temperature in the combustion chamber exceeds a pre-determined value, automatically re-energizes the fuel feed device once the temperatue falls back within acceptable levels, and which de-energizes the fuel feed device if the temperature measured in the combustion chamber falls below a pre-determined value.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for a pellet fuel burning heating unit for burning corn or wood pellets having a balanced pressure system having a four-way split combustion intake airstream. The invention includes a combustion air blower system for providing combustion air into a firebox containing a burner under positive pressure and at the same time providing a negative pressure to remove the combustion gases from the firebox. A pressure regulator and air splitter maintains a balance between the positive and negative pressure and adjusts the air flow into the firebox and out the exhaust. The exhaust is provided through a bank of exhaust tubes running from the top of the firebox to an exhaust manifold. The blower air moves into the pressure regulator and air splitter dividing the air flow such that a portion enters the heating unit exhaust manifold to produce a negative pressure and the remaining portion enters the heating unit burner under positive pressure. Such remaining positive pressure portion is split three ways, with a flow stream directed at the fuel bed in the burner, a flow stream directed concentrically with a fuel pellet feed toward the region directly above the burner and a flow stream directed along the firebox door window, resulting in turbulence and improved combustion efficiency and self-regulation as between the relative amounts of air between the burner fuel bed and the region above the burner.

    摘要: A heater for burning combustible pelletized fuel. The pelletized fuel is delivered at a controllable rate to a double-walled burn pot in an enclosed combustion chamber. Combustion air is injected into the combustion chamber at a pressure higher than the ambient air pressure surrounding the heater. Combustion air is injected between the walls of the burn pot through ports in the inner wall into the fuel at or slightly below the top of the fuel level. Additional combustion air is injected approximately horizontally across the top of the burn pot through an injection air manifold. Crossfire injection air is injected approximately vertically about the periphery of the burn pot, confining fumes and exhaust air directly above the burn pot. Heated exhaust gasses rise to the top of the combustion chamber and are drawn from the combustion chamber through a heat exchange unit surrounding the combustion chamber. The exhaust gasses are drawn from the combustion chamber by suction created by and extraction air mechanism. Both the injection air supply and the suction for extracting exhaust gasses are provided by a single hybrid injection air/extraction air blower assembly.

    摘要: A mechanism for feeding solid material, e.g. wood in a wood-burning furnace, has a pair of rollers. The rollers are rotatably mounted, so as to be generally horizontal and substantially parallel to one another. The rollers are spaced apart to permit the solid material to fall between them. Thus, in a furnace, they are far enough apart to permit logs to fall from a store into a combustion chamber, but are also sufficiently close that, in the absence of roller motion, the material tends to bridge between the rollers. A drive is provided for rotating the rollers.
