摘要:
A wood stove that includes a hollow cylindrical outer skin with an coaxially aligned, insulated inner fire box. Located below the fire box is a fresh air inlet and an air control valve that controls the flow of fresh air into the stove's primary and secondary chambers. Surrounding the fire box are three longitudinally aligned air conduits that extend from the air inlet to an upper ledge located below a secondary combustion chamber. During use, the fresh air inside the air conduits is heated. Disposed transversely inside the outer jacket and above the primary chamber is a combustor assembly that includes a lower fin plate, a perforated intermediate plate and a perforated upper plate. During use, fuel is added to the fire box which undergoes initial combustion and produces hot gases and fumes that travel upward towards the chamber assembly. The air control valve controls flow of fresh air into the primary chamber only, both chambers, or into only the secondary chamber.

A hybrid wood-burning fireplace assembly configured for burning wood-based fuel, wherein the burning generates combustion exhaust. The assembly comprising a fire box having an interior area, a baffle in the interior area defining lower and upper combustion chambers relative to the baffle. The upper combustion chamber has an upper exhaust passageway between baffle and the top portion of the firebox. A secondary combustion airway has air outlets in the firebox that direct the secondary combustion air adjacent to the baffle to mix with the exhaust for non-catalytic secondary combustion of the exhaust before the exhaust flows through the upper exhaust passageway. A catalytic combustion unit is positioned above the baffle and across the upper exhaust passageway, whereby the exhaust will pass through the catalytic combustion unit after the non-catalytic secondary combustion of the exhaust and before the exhaust exits the upper combustion chamber through the upper exhaust passageway.

There is provided a wood pellet burner assembly for a wood pellet boiler, not shown. There is a fixed and easily removable fuel apertured grate mounted above and spaced apart from a base wall forming part of a main support enclosure. A movable scraper subassembly carrying an apertured flame tube is provided which can be moved in and out of the main support enclosure to perform a scraping action on the fixed fuel apertured grate to deliver ash and clinker which have not fallen through the grate during combustion off the grate out of the main support enclosure. This cleaning operation can be carried out at suitable preset time intervals.

A solid fuel burning stove includes a firebox having front side and rear walls, a top and a bottom, and a secondary combustion unit formed from high temperature insulative refractive material mounted on the top and rear wall of the firebox. The unit is connected to the firebox by a mouth located in the rear wall adjacent the floor of the firebox and by a perforated plate on the firebox top wall. A vertical combustion passage extends from the mouth up to a mixing and combustion chamber located in the unit above the top wall of the firebox. The secondary combustion unit efficiently burns secondary combustion gases flowing into the unit through the mouth and plate during different stages of burning solid fuel, particularly wood.

A wood burning stove having a lower main fire box and a vertically offset oven unit. Directly under the cooking surface of the lower firebox is an auxiliary firebox; the air supply inlet has means to selectively direct the incoming air to either firebox so that a small cooking fire can be used alone. The main firebox door has a glass panel and a removable stainless steel plate to reflect heat back to the glass to burn off accumulated deposits thereon.

A free standing stove is provided which includes a firebox for initiating the combustion of fuel, and a secondary combustion chamber for continuing the combustion. A first conduit is provided for conveying air through a draft inlet damper and into the firebox. A second conduit is provided for conveying air into the secondary combustion chamber. A third conduit conveys the gasses of combustion from the secondary combustion chamber and out of the stove. A fourth conduit may also be included which would be mounted in thermal contact with the third conduit, the fourth conduit including a lower end and an upper end and being adapted to receive ambient air in its lower end and warm the air prior to discharging it out of the upper end.

A furnace for combusting wood comprises a firebox floor in a primary burn chamber of the furnace, where the wood is received for generating a gas therefrom, that is defined by a thermally conductive body of refractory material. The body of refractory material defines an upper support surface arranged to support the wood above or over the same. The body of refractory material also defines, beneath the upper support surface, a duct as part of a secondary burn chamber of the furnace which is arranged (i) to be communicated with the primary burn chamber of the furnace to receive the gas generated by heating of the wood therein and carrying combustible products, and (ii) to convey the gas in a manner supporting combustion of the combustible products carried thereby.
摘要:
This invention relates to a novel apparatus and method for automatically and dynamically regulating the intake of air into the combustion chamber of a heating unit such as a wood burning stove, furnace, or fireplace to ensure even and efficient burning of fuel. More particularly, this invention pertains to a method and apparatus that uses negative gas pressure in the heating unit's flue, and no additional temperature or pressure sensors, to automatically and dynamically control a damper regulating intake of air into the combustion chamber in inverse relation to changes in negative flue gas pressure. This method and apparatus are especially useful in combination with a heating unit having two combustion chambers, one chamber for combustion of solid fuel and a second chamber for further combustion of exhaust gases and other byproducts from combustion in the first chamber. The two-stage combustion in a dual chamber heating unit is an especially dynamic situation where traditional static controls are not very effective.

A resistance heater heats air forced by a fan into a woodstove secondary combustion chamber having an ignitor. The fan, heater and ignitor are controlled by a temperature sensor for gas flowing from a primary combustion chamber to a secondary combustion chamber. Two ignitors, extending through the stove back wall into the secondary combustion chamber, are controlled by the temperature sensor.
摘要:
An improvement in a woodburning stove of the type including an exhaust flue opening; a combustion chamber for primary combustion, having an access door, a support for wood to be burned and a primary air inlet means for supplying primary air to support primary combustion of the wood to produce flue gases containing combustible particulate material; conduit means for directing the flue gases from the combustion chamber to the flue opening in a preselected path; and, secondary combustion means for burning the particulate material in the flue gases before the flue gases pass through the exhaust flue opening. The improvement involves the secondary combustion means for supplying many jets of secondary air into the flue gases adjacent to the combustion chamber together with a laterally elongated, secondary combustion device having a constriction effect on the flue gases and a large volume secondary combustion plenum chamber with the combustion device and plenum chamber connected in series between the combustion chamber and the exhaust flue opening. The secondary air is provided by a laterally extending manifold with openings producing many distinct secondary air jets extending into the flue gases.
