摘要: A liquid to air switching flow system includes a switching flow apparatus within a housing and a source loop and a production loop that are in fluid communication with the switching flow apparatus. The production loop includes a heating/cooling coil that includes a coil input that receives fluid the switching flow apparatus and a coil output that returns fluid to the switching flow apparatus. In a heating mode a first heat exchanger, acting as a condenser, is fluidly connected to the production loop to provide heated liquid to the heating/cooling coil. In a cooling mode, a second heat exchanger, acting as an evaporator, is fluidly connected to the production loop to provide cooled liquid to the heating/cooling coil. A fan is positioned within the housing to push air across the heating/cooling coil to heat the air in the heating mode or cool the air in the cooling mode.

摘要: A method for operating a heat pump (1) which transfers heat to a fluid heat transfer medium which circulates in a heating circuit is provided. An outside temperature is acquired. When the outside temperature is higher than a limit temperature, a runtime of an electric heating rod (2) of the heat pump (1) and/or energy consumed by the heating rod (2) are acquired. When the runtime exceeds a first limit value within a specified period of time and/or the energy consumed by the heating element (2) in the specified period of time exceeds a second limit value, a message is output.

摘要: An installation includes an in-building hot water supply system, a hot water heat pump, an energy storage arrangement containing a mass of phase change material and a heat exchanger coupled between the hot water system and the heat pump, and a processor to provide a signal to the heat pump based on the opening of an outlet of the hot water supply system. The mass of phase change material has enough latent heat capacity to heat to a predetermined temperature a predetermined quantity of water in the interval from the opening of an outlet of the hot water supply system until at least the heat pump begins to heat water in the hot water supply system. Also provided is a method of controlling a heat pump in such an installation.

摘要: A heat pump water heater can include a water tank and a refrigerant circuit that can be in fluid communication with an evaporator coil, a condenser coil, and a compressor. The heat pump water heater can include a fan configured to move air across the evaporator coil, a temperature sensor, and a controller. The controller can be configured to receive temperature data from the temperature sensor and, in response to the temperature data indicating a temperature less than a predetermined temperature threshold, output instructions for the compressor to deactivate and the fan to move air across the evaporator coil.

摘要: A heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVACR) system includes a heating fluid circuit, a cooling fluid circuit, and a storage fluid circuit. A thermal system of the HVACR system absorbs energy from the storage fluid circuit and rejects it to the heating fluid circuit. The storage fluid circuit includes thermal storage tanks containing thermal storage material that can provide energy for heating or absorb energy for cooling depending on the state of the thermal storage material. Heating can be provided using the heating fluid circuit and the heat provided by the thermal system. Cooling can be provided using the cooling fluid circuit by absorbing energy from the conditioned space using a cooling fluid and rejecting energy from the cooling fluid to the storage fluid circuit. The thermal storage tanks can have heat added to them using an air source heat pump system to support heating operations.

摘要: In one embodiment, a water system includes a compressor, a condenser fluidly coupled to the compressor by refrigerant tubing, a modulating motor-controlled valve configured to alter a flow of water through the condenser, an accelerometer mechanically coupled to the water system, and a water system controller. The water system controller may be configured to perform an automated anti-water hammer procedure. During the automated anti-water hammer procedure, the water system controller may be configured to activate an operating procedure for the water system, transmit a control signal to the modulating motor-controlled valve, receive vibrational measurements received from the accelerometer, compare the vibrational measurements measured by the accelerometer to a predetermined vibration level associated with the operating procedure, and adjust the opening position and opening speed of the modulating motor-controlled valve for the operating procedure if the vibrational measurements exceed the predetermined vibration level associated with the operating procedure.

摘要: A combined hot water and air heating and conditioning system including a first heat exchanger, a heat pump, a chilling tower loop, a burner and a second heat exchanger to provide hot water, air heating and air cooling. The system provides hot water, air heating and cooling all in one single unit. The system utilizes a heat pump to remove heat from ambient air and transfer the rejected heat into a hot water system, thereby using waste heat to heat the hot water system. The system utilizes a heat exchanger not only for the purpose of transferring heat from a heating source to a fluid in the heat exchanger but also for the purpose of dissipating heat from the fluid in the heat exchanger to the surroundings of the heat exchanger, thereby allowing a heat pump to act both as an air heating and conditioning device.
