Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to systems and methods useful for providing one or more chemical compounds in a substantially pure form. In particular, the systems and methods can be configured for separation of carbon dioxide from a process stream, such as a process stream in a hydrogen production system. As such, the present disclosure can provide systems and method for production of hydrogen and/or carbon dioxide.
Abstract:
A system and method for removing nitrogen from an intermediate stream in a gas subcooled process operation that processes natural gas into a sales gas stream and a natural gas liquids stream. The system and method of the invention are particularly suitable for use with gas subcooled process operations where the sales gas stream exceeds pipeline nitrogen specifications by up to about 3%, such as for reducing the nitrogen content of sales gas streams to levels permissible for pipeline transport.
Abstract:
Provided are apparatus and systems for performing a swing adsorption process. This swing adsorption process may involve passing streams through adsorbent bed units to treat the feed stream to form a stream that complies with nitrogen rejection specifications. The process may involve using at least a portion of the nitrogen rejection process product streams as a purge for the swing adsorption process.
Abstract:
Provided are apparatus and systems for performing a swing adsorption process. This swing adsorption process may involve passing streams through adsorbent bed units to remove contaminants, such as water, from the stream. As part of the process, the adsorbent bed unit is purged with a purge stream that is provided at a temperature less than 450° F. The de-contaminated stream may be used with a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant or other subsequent process requiring a de-contaminated stream. The swing adsorption process may involve a combined TSA and PSA process, which is utilized to remove contaminants from the feed stream.
Abstract:
According to certain embodiments of the invention, a gas containing at least 50% of carbon dioxide is cooled in a first exchanger so as to produce a cooled fluid, a liquid derived from the cooled fluid is sent to a distillation column to be separated therein, a head gas is withdrawn from the distillation column and reheated in the first exchanger, a vat liquid, which is richer in carbon dioxide than the gas containing at least 50% of carbon dioxide, is withdrawn and at least a portion thereof is heated in the first exchanger, at least a first portion of the vat liquid is vaporized in the first exchanger in order to produce a vaporized portion, the vaporized portion is sent back to the column and an NOx removal column is supplied with the liquefied cycle gas produced by vaporizing and reliquefying the vat liquid from the column.
Abstract:
In a process for the separation of a stream containing carbon dioxide, water and at least one light impurity including a separation step at subambient temperature, the feed stream is compressed in a compressor comprising at least two stages to form a compressed feed stream, the compressed feed stream is purified in an adsorption unit to remove water and form a dried compressed stream, the dried compressed stream or a stream derived therefrom is cooled to a subambient temperature and separated by partial condensation and/or distillation in a separation apparatus, liquid enriched in carbon dioxide is removed from the separation apparatus, the adsorption unit is regenerated using a regeneration gas and the regeneration gas is formed by separating, by permeation in a permeation unit, the dried compressed stream or a gas derived therefrom, the permeate of the permeation unit constituting the regeneration gas.
Abstract:
A method for separating nitrogen from an LNG stream with a nitrogen concentration of greater than 1 mol %. A pressurized LNG stream is produced at a liquefaction facility by liquefying natural gas, where the pressurized LNG stream has a nitrogen concentration of greater than 1 mol %. At least one liquid nitrogen (LIN) stream is received from storage tanks, the at least one LIN stream being produced at a different geographic location from the LNG facility. The pressurized LNG stream is separated in a separation vessel into a vapor stream and a liquid stream. The vapor stream has a nitrogen concentration greater than the nitrogen concentration of the pressurized LNG stream. The liquid stream has a nitrogen concentration less than the nitrogen concentration of the pressurized LNG stream. At least one of the one or more LIN streams is directed to the separation vessel.
Abstract:
A method of gas production from a field containing natural gas processing particularly for transport of stranded gas to conserve resources and reduce emissions includes extracting gas a gas supply from a plurality of individual gas wells in the field and initially at the individual gas wells providing a recovery unit having a production capacity matching that of the well for carrying out liquid recovery from the gas supply and compression of the natural gas. When a production rate of the well declines to a low level, typically to about 20% of the original, the recovery unit is removed for redeployment either at a central plant or at other wells which are still at the high production and is substituted by a dehydration system and gas compressor arranged to fill portable pressure vessels typically on trucks for transporting the compressed natural gas to a main pipe line.

Provided are apparatus and systems for performing a swing adsorption process. This swing adsorption process may involve passing streams through adsorbent bed units to remove contaminants, such as water, from the stream. As part of the process, the adsorbent bed unit is purged with a purge stream that is provided from the overhead of the demethanizer. The configuration integrates a PPSA dehydration system with a cryogenic recovery system.
