摘要： An induction furnace for heating a workpiece includes a chamber and an insulation cylinder positioned therein, with the insulation cylinder including a base cover movable between first and second positions, and the first position positioning the workpiece within a heating zone and the second position positioning the workpiece within a cooling zone. A translation system in the furnace includes a first member coupled to the base cover of the insulation cylinder and extending through a wall of the chamber, an actuator coupled to the first member, the actuator configured to translate the first member to move the base cover of the insulation cylinder between the first and second positions, and an expansion member encircling a portion of the first member and configured to hermetically seal an interior volume of the chamber from an environment volume external to the chamber.

摘要： An example mobile kiln system includes a mobile platform. A frame is mounted to the mobile platform. At least one kiln is rotatably mounted to the frame. The kiln is movable between a first operational position for loading a feed material into the at least one kiln, and a second operational position for unloading a biochar product from the at least one kiln following processing of the feed material. In an example, the mobile kiln system includes at least one stack assembly for the kiln. The stack assembly has a lid to cover the kiln to retain heat and a chimney to release emissions from the kiln during processing of the feed material.

摘要： A mobile melting device for consolidating contaminated scrap and to a corresponding method. The melting device has a crucible chamber and a crucible base. The crucible is arranged on the crucible base during operation, and the crucible base and the crucible chamber together form a gas-tight furnace housing. It is thus possible to carry out the method in a vacuum or under protective gas such that even a reactive material can be consolidated. The melting device can be assembled and disassembled with little effort.

摘要： A bead furnace has a furnace with a furnace chamber 4 and opening 6. A closure assembly 20 is provided on closure assembly 22. The closure assembly has a blank closure element 26 and an active closure element 32 on different sides of the closure assembly, each matching the opening 6. A crucible holder 44 with a detent for holding a crucible and a mold holder 60 for holding a mold are provided on the active face. The closure assembly moves between two states, a load state with the blank closure element 26 in the furnace opening and an operation state with the active closure element 32 in the furnace opening with the crucible and mold in the furnace. The closure assembly can agitate the crucible contents and then tip the crucible to pour fused contents into the mold.

摘要： Described herein is a crucible with a rod fused thereon to optimize pouring of molten material, and method of using the same. The crucible has a body configured for receipt of an amorphous alloy material in a vertical direction, and the rod extends in a horizontal direction from the body. The body of the crucible and the rod are formed from silica or quartz. The rod may be fused to the body of the crucible and provided off a center axis so that pouring molten material is improved when the crucible is rotated.

摘要： A system and method for insulating an induction vacuum furnace is disclosed. An induction furnace for heating a workpiece includes a chamber, an insulation cylinder positioned within the chamber, and an induction coil positioned to surround at least a portion of the insulation cylinder. A susceptor is positioned within the insulation cylinder and inductively heated by the induction coil when a current is provided to the induction coil. An insulating jacket assembly including one of a carbide material and a refractory metal is positioned in a space between the insulating cylinder and the susceptor.
