Abstract:
A melting pot includes a pot body and a float salvaging apparatus. The pot body is provided with a melting chamber having an open upper end. The float salvaging apparatus includes a hanging bracket, a bearing plate, a rotating plate and a drive assembly configured to drive pivoting of the rotating plate. The hanging bracket is disposed above the melting chamber. The rotating plate is pivotably disposed on the bearing plate, and the bearing plate and the rotating plate are provided on the hanging bracket between an initial position and a first salvaging position in a manner of moving up and down. The drive assembly is connected to the rotating plate.
Abstract:
A smelting ladle and a method for improving use efficiency thereof. The smelting ladle includes a housing, a working layer, and a permanent layer. The method includes: 1) rebuilding the working layer to have an outer layer and an inner layer, the inner layer being a consumable working layer which contacts with molten steel and steel slag, and the outer layer being a circulating working layer which contacts with the permanent layer or directly contacts with the housing; 2) allowing the smelting ladle to work, when the thickness of the consumable working layer is reduced to be between 0 and 20 mm, removing a residue of the consumable working layer and masoning a new consumable working layer for the smelting ladle; and 3) repeating 2) until the circulating working layer reaches a designed service life thereof, and casting a new circulating working layer for the smelting ladle.
Abstract:
A reaction vessel for making phlegmatized metal powder or alloy powder has a retort crucible with a heat-proof, coolable cover, a heatable reduction furnace into which the retort crucible may be inserted, and an inner crucible placed within the retort crucible and removable therefrom. At least one inlet is built into the coolable cover for adding a passivating gas. A heat-proof flange welded onto the retort crucible attaches the retort crucible to the heat-proof, coolable cover. A cooler welded onto a lower face of the heat-proof flange provides a cooling agent to the reaction vessel.
Abstract:
A method and a device are described for the production of metal powder or alloy powder of a moderate grain sizes less than 10 μm, comprising or containing at least one of the reactive metals zirconium, titanium, or hafnium, by metallothermic reduction of oxides or halogenides of the cited reactive metals with the aid of a reducing metal, wherein said metal powder or alloy powder is phlegmatized by adding a passivating gas or gas mixture during and/or after the reduction of the oxides or halogenides and/or is phlegmatized by adding a passivating solid before the reduction of the oxides or halogenides, wherein both said reduction and also said phlegmatization are performed in a single gas-tight reaction vessel which can be evacuated.

Abstract:
A device and a method for treating metallic material. In particular, the invention is suitable for treating and/or producing steel and metallic alloys, in particular non-standard grade steels and alloys of particularly high quality. The invention has proved to be particularly successful in the treatment of iron-based metallic materials.
Abstract:
Described herein is a crucible with a rod fused thereon to optimize pouring of molten material, and method of using the same. The crucible has a body configured for receipt of an amorphous alloy material in a vertical direction, and the rod extends in a horizontal direction from the body. The body of the crucible and the rod are formed from silica or quartz. The rod may be fused to the body of the crucible and provided off a center axis so that pouring molten material is improved when the crucible is rotated.
Abstract:
A device and a method for removing impurities in an aluminum melt are provided, in which the device includes an upper furnace body, a lower furnace body, an intermediate partition plate, a crucible, heating elements and a charging opening. The intermediate partition plate is mounted between the upper furnace body and the lower furnace body. The upper furnace body, a mixing chamber and a heating element are above the intermediate partition plate. The crucible is mounted in the lower furnace body. A heating element is provided around the lower furnace body. The mixing chamber and the crucible are connected by a jet pipe passing through the intermediate partition plate. For the device and the method, impurity removal is quick, efficiency is high and the process is closed, so there is no environmental pollution, and the aluminum melt after impurity removal may be directly cast.

Abstract:
A melter for preparing a molten medium, in particular for preparing a molten adhesive, has a housing and a melting tank formed within the housing. The melter further has a filling opening for introducing the medium to be melted. The melter further has a wall section which encircles the filling opening. The melter further has an insulating body which encircles the filling opening and covers the wall section. The insulating body is elastically deformable for use in such a melter.
