    摘要: A portable heating system includes a plenum chamber forming a base. The plenum chamber has a plurality of side walls and defines an upper opening. The side walls also define a plurality of side openings, each configured for attachment to an elongate flexible duct. A heating unit is coupled to the plenum and has an air intake opening for drawing air into the heating unit and an air vent opening for blowing warm air out of the heating unit, into the upper opening of the plenum chamber and out through the ducts. The ducts can be located throughout a structure to provide heating in various remote locations from the heating unit. A frame assembly is coupled to the plenum chamber and includes a handle for grasping by a user and a pair of wheels to allow the heating system to be moved.

    摘要: A scrap charging apparatus for an electric arc furnace includes a scrap holding bunker having diverging side walls extending between end walls separated by a scrap discharge opening supplying scrap from a fall space in the bunker to a scrap discharge chute. The end wall remote to the scrap discharged opening of the chute slopes at an acute angle to organized scrap entering the discharged opening. A throat opening for scrap passing into the scrap discharge chute is controlled by a pivotal scrap jam relief gate moveable between a scrap metering position, a relief position and a scrap compacting position.

    摘要: A method of, and apparatus for, recycling a metal by melting it to remove it from metal-containing scrap through the use of a tiltable, swivel rotary furnace, which is swiveled to a first station for receiving metal-containing scrap, tilted back and rotated while heating to melt the metal, swiveled to a second station where it is stopped and forward tilted to quickly pour off the molten metal into a holding apparatus. The furnace is swiveled to a third station where it is further forward tilted and rotated to discharge the residual scrap, and then leveled and swiveled to the first station while still hot to receive metal-containing scrap, thereby reducing the amount of energy required to reheat the furnace to melting temperature. The furnace comprises a hollow elongated drum having a tapered snout, a door closing the front opening, a power rotary drive to rotate the drum, which is mounted for tilting about a transverse axis, and for swiveling about a vertical axis, and a heater.

    摘要: A mobile holding furnace having a metering pump is adapted to hold a relatively small quantity of molten metal in a contamination-free condition for dispensing to individual molds. The furnace is provided with insulation and electric heating elements for maintaining the molten metal in a liquid state. The furnace is sealed such that an atmosphere of inert gas can be maintained above the level of molten metal. The furnace is mounted upon wheels for easy transportation from place to place. The furnace is used in conjunction with tracks disposed adjacent individual molds, the tracks permitting the furnace to be locked in place while molten metal is dispensed into the molds.
